Xbox One May Soon get Multiple Re

Apart from the anticipated Halo 5 Guardians for the Xbox One console, there are hardly any must have exclusives in sight.

Instead, they may get more re-mastered games from the Xbox 360 console, commented Phil Spencer.

Microsoft faced a lot of issues when they launched the Xbox One console, purely because of the fact that they talked more about television and less about games. Sony didn’t do much of an innovation, but they rode on the mistakes made by their competitor. Even after two years since their original launch, both consoles lack any must have exclusives. Big franchises like Gears of War, Halo and many others have been missing. The company has already confirmed that a re-mastered edition of Gears of War is coming, but it looks like there will be more games to follow the same path.

More Re-mastered Games like Never Before

Fans are extremely annoyed by this trend, because after having already spent $60 or more on multiple games for the Xbox 360 edition, they are being forced to purchase it one more time for the full price or at a meager discount. It has the same game, missions and additional DLC content, except for the fact that it runs on 1080p resolution.

PC gamers usually don’t face such issues, because any title they have purchased even a decade ago can simply be translated to almost any resolution with a tweak in the code. There are plenty of mods available that boost the graphical quality of old games like Fallout, among many others, whereas the console gamers are being milked to the core.

Missing Backward Compatibility

Phil Spencer confirmed that they are going to bring a lot of titles from Xbox 360 to the Xbox One console. If they had integrated backward compatibility in the first place, it wouldn’t have been so difficult for the players to enjoy the games that they already own. They may not look polished or run at higher resolution, but it is much better than having to pay for the same content repeatedly.

Fable Anniversary is now available on Xbox One and Spencer confirmed that there are so many games that he would like to see on the next gen console. But, not all of them may make it to the final release; only those that have great fan following and will witness good sales will be re-mastered for the console with better graphics.
