Being an AAA title that is exclusive to the Xbox One, it is not surprising that Halo 5 Guardians has so many pre-order bonus announcements going on at the moment.
Major retailers including GameStop, Amazon, and local dealers have acquired exclusive bonus items. Usually, such unique maps, weapons, and armor among every other content will be made available to players only when you purchase from that specific retailer. But, just because of the reason that you need a gun, doesn’t mean you can buy two different copies of the game from multiple retailers at once. After all, the progression can be made only in one version of the title, and you can’t play each copy of the game again to try the gun right?
Unlock them by playing
For players who were worried about not being able to own these special pre-order bonus items for Halo 5 Guardians, there is some good news. Josh Holmes, head of 343 industries, the longtime developer of the Halo series confirmed that there are not going to be any exclusive items tied to any dealer.
The only difference is that when you purchase the game from a particular retailer, the bonus item will be available to you out of the box. There is no need to play the game or complete a set of missions to own it. Everyone else who may have bought the copy from a different source has nothing to worry about because all the items will be available in the game. All you have to do is start playing it and unlock them as you make progression.
No more paid DLCs
343 industries have created a new benchmark in the modern gaming scenario. Many AAA games that got launched in the past will have pre-order bonuses. It includes skins, weapons and sometimes even full maps or missions. Players who buy it from the retailer will be able to enjoy them while others may have to wait for the content to be released as a DLC. You have to pay extra cash above the $60 to purchase them.
Another way to enjoy these missions or weapons is to wait a whole year before the company would consider releasing a game of the year edition. It will have all the content, but the problem is that you have to pay again. Instead of selling an incomplete game, Halo 5 Guardians is wholesome and worth your bucks.
