Sony had a glorious E3 2015 event where they proudly unveiled the gameplay video for Uncharted 4 – A Thief’s End.
The game, developed by Naughty Dog, was simply spectacular, but there were some pesky questions that popped up.
Is the series going to be extremely action packed in the upcoming sequel that it loses its main storyline? Nathan Drake has always been a man of adventure who loves to go on such quests throughout his life. He has never been the one who stays indoors, but all previous games were linear and focused more on the story than the visual splendor. But, from the gameplay demo which was shown during the Sony conference, it is evident that the title is going to feature some open world environments for the first time and may also let players explore some of it.
Being Spectacular to Woo the Crowd
One can’t simply judge Uncharted 4 – A Thief’s End to be fully action packed, because most gameplay videos shown during conferences will usually showcase these important elements. If they try to show a story, it will not only be boring but will also reveal some of the interesting surprises that should be reserved for the actual release. It may or may not be the case with this PS4 exclusive!
Such a question comes up mainly because the way the world was designed and the enemy AI hinted a place that was designed for action. You couldn’t say that it was to move the story or add weight to the campaign, but to engross the player with visuals. It was also an environment that reacted to every gunshot and movement, which intensified the action even further.
Naughty Dog’s New Approach
The team which earlier did the brilliant Last of Us is the one that has been working on Uncharted 4 for some time now. They proved their mettle and it is evident that the team is capable of delivering a game that is action packed yet has its storyline that will make you invest in its characters.
Let’s just hope that the nail biting action shown during the two gameplay demos aren’t the only way to play Uncharted, but rather some iconic moments are infused into it. The game has been scheduled for a 2016 release and it is one of the biggest PS4 exclusives that the console owners are looking forward to, for a long time.
