Sony’s official YouTube channel should be praised for this idea where they get the best developers to speak on important projects.
Naughty Dog, the people behind Uncharted 4 – A Thief’s End had a detailed discussion that revealed some of the juicy details.
Even though, the team had enough experience developing a blockbuster title in the past, it wasn’t easy for them to come up with a game that is worthy to be called a PS4 exclusive. After all, Nathan Drake has a really strong history and it is mandatory for the developers to cope up with the hype that the series had developed throughout the years.
Talking about the game, the lead developers said, “When we started off for Uncharted 4 with a storyboard, our most important objective was to make sure it didn’t resemble the Last of Us by any chance. The same team which worked on the original and the re-mastered version of the game was assigned with this task. It is easy to find similarities, but they worked a lot to ensure the games looked apart from one another”.
Pushing PS4 to its Boundaries
The actual power of the PS4’s hardware power is unknown, even though the console got released almost two years ago. There are very few exclusives and none of them could compete with the level set by a game like Uncharted 4. Both players and critics alike are eagerly waiting to see the game on the Playstation 4 console in 2016. It is sad that the release date has to be postponed, but the developers have some valid reasons to do so.
Without revealing if this could be the last game in the series, Naughty Dog said, “We really wanted to make it the best because it is the first in the series to arrive on the PS4 console. Besides, our team had a lot of discussion in determining the resolution and the frame rates”.
In the end, it has been confirmed that the game will run at the full 1080p resolution for both multiplayer and single player campaigns. However, it is locked at 30 FPS for the storyline, while the multiplayer version will go up to 60 FPS. The game is also the first to come with real time cut scenes that are rendered within the game engine and not as individual videos. Everything looks promising so far and if you own a PS4 console, you probably have to buy the game without questions.
