Chapter 1 - The Coming War
Objectives: Travel to Phobos, Investigate the Cabal distress signal
Starting off you're going to need to travel to Fleetbase Korus on Phobos, near Mars. On your way in you'll be informed that the base is sending out a widespread distress call, which has the Vanguard worried. Your mission is to head inside and figure out what all the fuss is about. once you gain control of your Guardian, make your way forward, following the waypoint. You'll end up breaching into the fort, and will quickly find out that the base has been overrun by a new enemy.
Once inside, you’ll find yourself in the Skyburner’s keep. Continue toward the ramp leading up to the top of the building. You’ll see quite a few strange sights as you go, and after you reach a large center room, a shadowy image of Oryx, the Taken King, will appear and demand you give in to him. After his message Syrok, Word of Oryx and a large number of “Taken” Psions will spawn and attack you. For this fight, start by finishing off the smaller enemies before focusing your attention on Syrok. The room does have plenty of pillars for you to take cover behind. If you have to, there is an upper level you can reach by double jumping to pick off the lower enemies, but there will be “Taken” up there as well. Once all the enemies are defeated, Eris will explain that Oryx is responsible for the Taken army.
Objective: Escape the base
Zavala will tell you that the mission is scrubbed and you need to turn tail and get out. Leave the center room and head back outside. More of the “Taken” will show up and you’ll need to take them out as you follow the waypoints towards the exfiltration route.
Objective: Get to your ship
After a short trek you'll arrive at the Aerodome, and you'll need to make your way to your ship, which is on the other side of the area. There are plenty of Taken, and Cabal, in the way, however, so make sure you have your weapons ready. You can pick off a few of them from above before dropping down into the lower level. But, once you have cleared the outside enemies, make your way across the bridge and inside to the next area. Keep killing any Taken, or Cabal you run into, and then head back outside. This section will have feature a large number of Phalanx and a few knights. Just keep running, and shooting, and make it to the waypoint on your map to trigger the mission ending cut scene.
