In The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), the majority of the PVP (aka AvA, Alliance vs. Alliance) in the game is done in Cyrodiil.
Cyrodiil is essentially a giant PVP realm where all three alliances are battling for control over territory. You’re primarily fighting over control of Keeps, Farms, Mills, and Villages.
To enter Cyrodiil, hit L on your keyboard to pull up the Alliance War tab on the main menu. Alternatively just pull up your characters screen or map screen and go to the tab at the top that looks like a castle (or kinda like a Rook in Chess).
On the Alliance War tab for the first time, you need to choose a home campaign.
Campaigns are simply a way to separate players into different instances, and there isn’t really anything special about each campaign.
The only major difference between the campaigns will be the number of players for each of the different Alliances that are participating in that campaign.
If you want a lot of big battle action, join a campaign that has a high population among the alliances. If you want to take it easy at first, join one of the less populated campaigns, preferably one that has a higher population of your own alliance. If you really want a challenge, find a campaign that has a lower population for your alliance.
Leaving Cyrodiil isn’t exactly obvious at first. In order to get back to your home continent, you have to travel back to one of the entry zones, which are located in the corners of the map depending on your alliance.
The Wayshrines for Ebonheart Pact are located in the upper-right corners, marked as Northern Morrowind Gate and Southern Morrowind Gate.
The Wayshrines for Daggerfall Covenant are located in the upper-left corners, marked as Northern High Rock Gate and Southern High Rock Gate.
The Wayshrines for Aldmeri Domain are located at the bottom of the map, marked as Eastern Elsweyr Gate and Western Elsweyr Gate.
Use the Transitus Network to travel within Cyrodiil to reach these points much easier.
