General Tips
- Hidden Object Scenes and mini-games are often randomized – your solution may vary from ours.
- Hidden Object Scenes will be referred to as HOS in this walkthrough.
- Items listed in blue require additional steps.
- Hints are unlimited, but you must wait for the meter to refill (1).
- Your inventory (2) and fragmented items (3) to find are located in the bottom panel – move your cursor down to raise your inventory bar.
- Fragmented items will be grayed out if located in another scene; they will be highlighted in blue if in the scene, but obstructed from view.
- Read your journal for current goals, clues, and Factoid count (4).
- Find Factoid icons throughout the game to collect historical facts.
Chapter 1: Back to the Future
- You will have the option of a brief tutorial.
- Look at the group portrait for a time ripple, then take the PAPER (A).
- Move the pillow to find a piece of the umbrella (B).
- Locate the 3 other pieces of umbrella (yellow) to earn the UMBRELLA.
- Collect 3 pieces of the type blocks (green).
- Take the piece of the time portal key (aqua).
- Look at the door and note you need a thumb latch (C).
- Read the note from Wilbur (D).
- Select the drawers for a HOS (E).
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Move the hat to find the ball of string (F).
- Move the cloth to find the pomade and a button (G).
- You will earn the THUMB LATCH.
- Look at the door, use the THUMB LATCH in the handle then walk forward.
- Find the piece of the time portal key (green).
- Find the 4 pieces of the translator (pink).
- Find 2 more of the type blocks (aqua).
- Lift the hat and take the KNOBS (H).
- Read the diagram (I).
- Take the 1-1 Flux Family Factoid icon (J).
- Use the UMBRELLA to take the CYLINDER RECORD (K).
- Open the door to the workshop (L).
- Look at the quadricycle (M).
- Walk down to return to the bedroom.
- Look at the phonograph and place the CYLINDER RECORD on the device for a message (N).
- Find the 2 pieces of type block (green) to earn the TYPE BLOCK.
- Note the small, locked cupboard (O).
- Look at the cabinet doors and place the KNOBS on the doors (P).
- Select the cabinet for a HOS (Q).
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Use the Morse code machine 3 times to find the 3 Morse Codes (R).
- Open the box to find one of the dominoes (S).
- You will earn the KEY.
- Use the KEY on the small locked cupboard and take the PRINTER’S INK.
- Exit the bedroom.
- Take the piece of the time portal key (green).
- Place the TYPE BLOCK into the printing press for a mini-game (T).
- Turn over 2 tiles at a time to find matching pairs (U).
- Find all the pairs to solve. Note that this mini-game is randomized; your solution may vary.
- Look at the press and place the PRINTER’S INK on the type blocks (V).
- Place the PAPER on the inked blocks (W).
- Move the roller twice (X).
- You will earn the GREEK PRINT.
- Once the shed lights up, take the final piece of the translator (red) and you will earn the TRANSLATOR.
- Place the GREEK PRINT on the stand (A).
- Place the TRANSLATOR over the Greek print (B).
- Drag the translator over the letter to read the message (C).
- Take the NICKEL that appears (D).
- Look at the kinetoscope and use the NICKEL to view the film (E).
- Take the final piece of the time portal key (green) to earn the TIME PORTAL KEY.
- Take the piece of paper from Wilbur (F).
- Place the TIME PORTAL KEY in the stand (G).
- Enter the portal (H).
Chapter 2: House of Flux
- Find the 4 pieces of the PIPE WRENCH (green).
- Find the piece of the air tank (pink).
- Look at the pipe and use the PIPE WRENCH on the bolt to stop the water (A).
- Take the 2-1 Flux Family Factoid icon (B).
- Look at the toolbox and take the CIRCUIT RING (C).
- Look at the circuit box and place the CIRCUIT RING inside for a mini-game (D).
- Align the 3 circuit rings to match the symbols at the bottom (E).
- Select the left or right side of the ring to rotate in that direction.
- Each ring affects the other rings in various ways.
- Turning the outer ring (F) will move the 2nd ring (G) in the same direction.
- Turning the 2nd ring will move the 3rd (H) in the same direction; the outer ring will move in the opposite direction.
- Turning the 3rd ring turns the outer ring in the same direction.
- Note that this mini-game is randomized and resets to a new configuration once you exit.
- Our random solution was to move the 2nd ring 6 times to the left, move the 3rd ring 6 times to the right, then move the outer ring 5 times to the left.
- Walk forward.
- Find the remaining 2 pieces to get the AIR TANK (green).
- Try to take the piece of the anchor ball (pink).
- Select the rubble pile for a HOS (I).
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Move the tile to find Lucina Flux (J).
- You will earn the STRAIGHT RAZOR.
- Walk forward to the elevator.
- Take the piece of the anchor ball (green).
- Move the gear to find the piece of the clock hands (pink).
- Place the AIR TANK into the niche (K).
- Walk forward to enter the elevator.
- Find the 2 pieces of the anchor ball (green).
- Open the control box; take the TAPE (L) and the piece of clock hands (pink).
- Use the STRAIGHT RAZOR to cut away the paper cover (M).
- Read the poster under the paper cover and take the CLOSET HANDLE (N).
- The partial access ID number will be noted in your journal (O).
- Walk forward.
- Turn on the desk lamp (P).
- Find the piece of the anchor ball (green).
- Find the final 2 pieces of the CLOCK HANDS (pink).
- Take the 2-2 Flux Family Factoid icon (Q).
- Look at the closet and place the CLOSET HANDLE on the door then turn the handle (R).
- Look at the clock and place the CLOCK HANDS on the face for a mini-game (S).
- The goal is to press all of the Greek letters.
- The clock hands indicate which letters can be pressed.
- The color of the letter you press will indicate how the clock hands will move.
- Each color will move the hands a different amount of spaces; red-1, green 2, purple-3, and blue-4.
- If the hands land on 2 letters that have already been chosen, you must start over.
- Press the letters in numerical order (1-8).
- Select the closet for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Move the cloth to find the button (T).
- You will earn the SCALE WEIGHTS.
- Look at the area behind the chalkboard (U).
- Take the ORACLE BOOKLET (V).
- Walk down twice.
- Place the SCALE WEIGHTS on the scale for a mini-game (A).
- Place the weights on the scale to align the red and green arrow (B).
- Place the smallest plus the 4th and 5th largest weights on the scale (C).
- Take the DISKETTE from the safe door (D).
- Look inside the safe and place the TAPE in the machine (E).
- Look at the poster and use the ORACLE BOOKLET on it for a mini-game (F).
- Drag words from the list (G) to replace the bold words in the message.
- Once the true message is revealed (H), you will see the clue of 20 (I).
- Walk down twice and select the rubbish pile for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- You will earn the GAS VALVE HANDLE.
- Look at the gas controls and place the GAS VALVE HANDLE on the stem (J).
- Push the valve down to turn off the gas (K).
- Take the final piece of the ANCHOR BALL (green).
- Walk forward 3 times and look at the area under the blackboard.
- Place the DISKETTE over the screen (L).
- Look at the row of numbers and enter the ID (M).
- The ID is formed from the 2 clues in your journal (N).
- Take the punch card and place it on the right (O).
- Flip the red switch (P).
- Place the ANCHOR BALL in the tube and close the door (Q).
- Pull the handle (R).
Chapter 3: Lost in Time
- Stand up the lamp (A).
- Find all 5 pieces of the PENCIL SHARPENER (green).
- Find the 3 pieces of the puzzle ring (pink).
- Find all 7 pieces of the 1920′S WATCH (aqua).
- Find all 7 pieces of the LUCENTI NOTE (red).
- Take the 3-1 Flux Family Factoid icon (B).
- Place the LUCENTI NOTE on the writing table for a mini-game (C).
- Restore the note by dragging the strips from the right (D) and place them in the note.
- Take the final piece of the PUZZLE RING (E).
- The ring will sit in the lower right of your screen and will illuminate when you are near time portals.
- Move the case aside to find the time portal (F).
- Open the drawer on the vanity for a mini-game (G).
- Use the clue from Lucenti’s note (H) to solve the combination dial (I).
- Once you turn the dial to the correct number, it will lock in place.
- To find the correct number, subtract the current correct dial numbers from the numbers on the note.
- Since we do not have any numbers yet, the first dial must be set to 6 on the inner ring; it will lock into place.
- The next number we want is 22, so 22 – 6 = 16; turn the dial to 16 on the 2nd ring.
- The last number we want is 78, so 78 – 16 – 6 = 50; turn the dial to 50 on the outer ring.
- Take the PORTAL KEY, place it on the time portal then go forward (J).
- Find the 2 pieces of the globe (green).
- Find the 3 pieces of the flag (pink).
- Find the piece of Swiss coin (orange).
- Find the 2 pieces of the Annus papers (aqua).
- Talk to Amelia then look in the case and place the 1920′S WATCH inside for a mini-game (@).
- Place the gears on the green pegs so that all are moving (K).
- Drag the gears from the outside of the watch (L) onto the green pegs.
- You will earn the SCARF.
- Walk left to the office.
- Close the suitcase to find the time portal (M).
- Open the 2 blinds (N).
- Find the piece of the globe (yellow).
- Find the 4 pieces of the flag (green).
- Find the piece of Swiss coin (pink).
- Find the piece of Annus papers (aqua).
- Use the scarf on the poster for a mini-game (O).
- Take the scarf and place it on the poster (P).
- Drag the scarf back and forth until all the dust and leaves are gone.
- You will see the phrase ‘Task Complete’ when you are finished.
- Note the four dolls (Q), then take the PLANE KEY (R).
- Walk down and use the PLANE KEY on the plane door (S).
- Select the plane door for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- You will earn the BOX CUTTER.
- Use the BOX CUTTER on the cardboard box (T).
- Look inside the box and take the final piece of the FLAG (green).
- Place the FLAG on the crate (U).
- Use the BOX CUTTER on the wheel straps (V).
- Take the 3-2 Flux Family Factoid icon (W).
- Take the 2 final pieces of the GLOBE (pink).
- Enter the portal (X).
- Place the GLOBE in the stand (A).
- Take the PORTAL KEY (B).
- Enter the portal (C), then walk left to the office.
- Place the PORTAL KEY on the portal (D), then go through the portal.
- Take the 3-3 Flux Family Factoid icon (E).
- Move the bucket aside (F).
- Find the 3 pieces of the cartridge (green).
- Find the piece of the map (pink).
- Find the piece of the telegraph (aqua).
- Find the 4 pieces of toys (orange).
- Walk forward.
- Take the 4 and place it on the door (G).
- Find the final piece of the cartridge (green).
- Find the piece of the map (pink).
- Find the 2 pieces of toys (orange).
- Walk down, enter the portal, walk down, and enter the portal in the hangar.
- Place the CARTRIDGE into the projector (H).
- Take the ORACLE KEY (I).
- Enter the portal, then select the airplane door for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Lift the box flap to find a diagram (J).
- You will earn the WALL DECOR.
- Walk left to the office, enter the portal, then walk forward twice.
- Place the WALL DECOR on the tile (K).
- Take the piece of the telegraph (aqua).
- Enter the apartment (L).
- Find the final 2 pieces of the TELEGRAPH (green).
- Find the 6 final pieces of the TOYS (pink).
- Place the PENCIL SHARPENER on the table (M).
- Note the cabinet (N).
- Note the top of the small cupboard (O).
- Use the ORACLE KEY on the oracle poster for a mini-game (P).
- Drag words from the list (Q) to replace the bold words in the message.
- Once the true message is revealed (R), you will see the clue of Greek letters (S).
- Take the paper scrap from Einstein (T).
- Open the painting (U).
- Find the 2 pieces of the map (green).
- Select the cabinet for a HOS (V).
- Locate all the items on the list.
- After you find the cork, pick up the bottle and use it on the vase (W).
- You can now take the popsicle stick (X).
- Move the flying machine to find a piece of china (Y).
- Move the arm to find the binoculars (Z).
- You will earn the DULL PENCIL.
- Walk down twice.
- Look at the cellar door for a mini-game (A).
- Refer to your journal for the clue (B).
- Enter the combination from the oracle poster.
- Press the symbols in numerical order (1-7).
- Look in the cellar for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Lift the teapot lid to find the cryptex (C).
- Check the lock on the door to find the handle is missing (D).
- Lift the jug to find the lily pad (E).
- You will earn the CRYPTEX.
- Enter the time portal.
- Place the TOYS on the display for a mini-game (F).
- Refer to the clue in your journal (G).
- Restore the dolls to their normal appearance (H).
- Each character has two pieces; you can place pieces on the 3 front platforms (I).
- A balloon will release and you will earn the final piece of the SWISS COIN.
- Enter the portal, then walk forward.
- Look at the kinetoscope and use the SWISS COINS on the slot (J).
- After watching the film, you will have the secret code (K).
- Walk forward to enter the apartment.
- Place the TELEGRAPH on the small cabinet for a mini-game.
- As the dots and dashes pass through the crosshatch (L), press the lever (M) for dots, press and hold briefly for dashes.
- Green means you correctly got that dot or dash (N); red means you missed it.
- Miss too many and the stream will start over.
- Letters will appear at the bottom as you solve (O).
- Once the compartment opens take the final piece of the MAP (P).
- Look at the sharpener and use the DULL PENCIL on it to get the SHARP PENCIL (Q).
- Note the area that wants Einstein’s research (R).
- Walk down twice and enter the portal.
- Place the MAP, then the SHARP PENCIL on the table for a mini-game (S).
- Restore the map by solving the jigsaw; pieces will lock together when correct (T).
- Take the final piece of the ANNUS PAPERS (green).
- Take the scrap of paper from Amelia (U).
- Enter the portal and walk forward twice to the apartment.
- Place the ANNUS PAPERS on the table (V).
- Take the CELLAR HANDLE from Einstein (W).
- Walk down twice then enter the cellar.
- Use the CELLAR HANDLE on the door (X).
Chapter 4: Full Circle
- Close the left shutter on the left window (A).
- Open the right shutter on the right window (B).
- Find the 3 pieces of lantern (green).
- Find the piece of manuscript (pink).
- Find the piece of music (aqua).
- Walk forward on the left.
- Open the left shutter on the lower right window (C).
- Find the final piece of the LANTERN (green).
- Find the 2 pieces of the leaf blower (pink).
- Find the piece of music (aqua).
- Take the 4-1 Flux Family Factoid Icon (D).
- Hand the lantern on the hook and select the area for a HOS (E).
- Locate all the item on the list.
- Move the shovel to find the oar (F).
- Move the tank to find the plastic bottle (G).
- Use the hammer on the gazing ball for an apple (H).
- You will earn the SLINGSHOT.
- Walk down.
- Place the SLINGSHOT on the lantern stand (I).
- Drag the slingshot back to the approximate position shown, then release (J).
- Do this until you hit the owl several times and he leaves (K).
- Take the FEATHER and the LOCK BUTTONS (L).
- Walk forward on the left.
- Look at the cellar door and use the FEATHER to pick the outer lock (M).
- Place the LOCK BUTTONS in the lock for a mini-game (N).
- Restore the carving by moving the tiles to the correct position (O).
- Select 2 tiles to swap positions; tiles will darken and lock in place when correct.
- Enter the cellar.
- Take the 4-2 Flux Family Factoid Icon (P).
- Move the barrel aside (Q).
- Find the 2 pieces of leaf blower (green).
- Find the piece of manuscript (pink).
- Find the final 3 pieces of MUSIC (aqua).
- Look at the table and place WALDORF on his name (R).
- Exit the close-up.
- Look at the power box and pull the switch (S).
- Exit the close-up.
- Walk to the right (T).
- Move the panel aside (U).
- Lift the umbrella (V).
- Find the 3 pieces of the manuscript (pink).
- Look in the box and take the PORTAL KEY (W).
- Take the final piece of the LEAF BLOWER (green).
- The lights will go off, walk down twice.
- Note if you take the leaf blower piece before the manuscript pieces you will be able to get them later once the lights are back on.
- Use the LEAF BLOWER on the pile of leaves (X).
- Use the PORTAL KEY on the portal, then enter the opening (Y).
- Open the crate (A).
- Take the 4-3 Flux Family Factoid Icon (B).
- Find the 3 pieces of the stage props (green).
- Find the 3 pieces of Flux wine (pink).
- Find the 3 pieces of the Delphi base (aqua).
- Find the 4 pieces of the Globe scroll (orange).
- Walk to the left.
- Move the 3 dresses aside (C).
- Take the 4-4 Flux Family Factoid Icon (D).
- Find the final piece of the STAGE PROPS (green).
- Find 2 pieces of Flux wine (pink).
- Look in the crate (E) for a piece of the Delphi base and then find the final 2 pieces to make the DELPHI BASE (aqua).
- Place the MUSIC in the balcony for a mini-game (F).
- Balls of colored light (G) will come down the strings; press the corresponding colored buttons (H) when the ball of light is under the button.
- Hit the button at the correct time and you will see a flourish of green musical notes and the meters (I) will increase.
- If you hit the button too soon or late, you will see a red musical note.
- Fill up the meters to win the game, then take the final piece of the GLOBE SCROLL (J).
- Walk down.
- Look in the crate and place the STAGE PROPS inside (K).
- Take the piece of Flux wine from Shakespeare (L).
- Place the GLOBE SCROLL on the spindle (M).
- Take the TASSEL that falls (N).
- Walk to the left.
- Find the piece of the Flux wine (green).
- Talk to Sir Francis Bacon and he will give you the ORACLE KEY (O).
- Note the Oracle poster (P).
- Use the TASSEL on the right curtain (Q).
- Select the area behind the curtain for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Lift the towel to find a fuse (R).
- Use the quill on the paper for writing (S).
- Tip over the tankard to find the bracelet (T).
- You will earn the FUSES.
- Use the ORACLE KEY on the poster for a mini-game.
- Drag words from the list (U) to replace the bold words in the message.
- Once the true message is revealed (V), you will see the clue of 16 (W).
- Walk down, enter the portal, then enter the cellar.
- Look at the power box and turn the numbers to 16 then open the cover (A).
- Refer to the Oracle clue if needed (B).
- Place the FUSES in the power box then pull the handle (C).
- Exit the close-up.
- Look at the table and place the DELPHI BASE in the center (D).
- Take the final piece of the MANUSCRIPT from Waldorf (E).
- Note that if you did not get the other manuscript pieces before the lights went out in the next room, you can do so now.
- Exit the close-up.
- Walk to the right and select the bookcase for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- You will earn the SCREWDRIVER.
- Walk down twice, enter the portal then go to the left.
- Place the MANUSCRIPT on the table (F).
- Take the piece of Flux wine from Shakespeare (G).
- Take the scrap paper from Shakespeare.
- Use the SCREWDRIVER on the armor (H).
- Take the final piece of FLUX WINE (I).
- Walk down, enter the portal, go down to the cellar and walk to the right.
- Place the FLUX WINE on the shelves for a mini-game (J).
- You must win 2 games of tic-tac-toe by getting 3 bottles in a row (K).
- Select any empty spot to place your bottle.
- Look at the bulletin board (L).
- Read the letter (M).
- Place the ORACLE PIECES on the board (N).
- Restore the poster by putting the pieces in the correct place; they will lock together when correct (O).
Chapter 5: A New World Idea
- Find the piece of the Lewis and Clarke map (green).
- Find the piece of the garden tools (pink).
- Find the piece of the Declaration draft (aqua).
- Walk forward.
- Take the 5-1 Flux Family Factoid Icon (A).
- Open the shutter (B).
- Move the gnome to find the EMPTY JAR (C).
- Find 3 pieces of the Lewis and Clarke map (green).
- Find the piece of the gazing post (aqua).
- Find 2 pieces of the garden tools (pink).
- Walk forward.
- Use the EMPTY JAR on the log for a mini-game (D).
- Drag the jar around to collect the 15 fireflies and you will get the GLOW JAR (E).
- Place the GLOW JAR on the hook (F).
- Take the piece of Lewis and Clarke map (G).
- Find the 3 pieces of the Lewis and Clarke map (green).
- Find the piece of the gazing post (pink).
- Find the piece of the garden tools (aqua).
- Walk to the right.
- Find the piece of the Lewis and Clark map (green).
- Find the piece of the garden tools (aqua).
- Find the piece of the Declaration draft (pink).
- Select the bush for a HOS (H).
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Use the tissue on the dirt to find the arrow heart (I).
- You will earn the GARGOYLE WINGS.
- Place the GARGOYLE WINGS on the wingless gargoyle (J).
- Take the GARGOYLE EYES (K) and place them in the gargoyle’s eyes (L).
- Walk forward through the now open gate (M).
- Take the OIL CAN (N) and use it on the hanging plant (O).
- Note the time portal that was behind the oil can.
- Slide the hanging plant to the left and take the FISH FOOD (P).
- Find the 2 pieces of the Lewis and Clark map (green).
- Find the 4 pieces of the gazing post (orange).
- Find the final piece of the GARDEN TOOLS (aqua).
- Find the piece of the Declaration draft (pink).
- Walk forward.
- Find the final piece of the LEWIS and CLARK MAP (green).
- Find 2 pieces of the gazing post (pink).
- Walk down 3 times.
- Use the FISH FOOD on the pond for a mini-game (P).
- Pick any point in the pond to create a ripple that will hit fish and create more ripples so that at least 10 fish are hit (Q).
- You will have to do this for 10, 15, and 20 fish to complete the puzzle.
- You will receive the PORTAL KEY.
- Walk forward twice, use the PORTAL KEY on the time portal and go through the portal.
- Find the 2 pieces of the polygraph (green).
- Move the chair (R) out to find a piece of the medallions (pink).
- Find the 5 pieces of the Cabinet De Curiosities (aqua).
- Place the GARDEN TOOLS in the basket (S).
- Take the GREEK FIRE (T).
- Walk forward.
- Find the 2 pieces of the polygraph (green).
- Find the piece of the medallions (pink).
- Find the 3 pieces of the Cabinet De Curiosities (aqua).
- Walk up the steps.
- Take the 5-2 Flux Family Factoid Icon (U).
- Find the final piece of the POLYGRAPH (green).
- Find the piece of the medallions (pink).
- Take the FOOT STOOL (V).
- Find the 3 pieces of the Cabinet De Curiosities (aqua).
- Move the lamp and take the TEA CUP (W).
- Walk down.
- Place the FOOT STOOL by the right side of the fireplace (A).
- Tip the candle on the right side of the mantle (B).
- Take BANNER SCROLL from the hiding place (C).
- Slide the foot stool to the left.
- Note the pirate ship is missing some items (D).
- Walk down.
- Place the TEA CUP in front of the samovar (E).
- Turn on the spigot to get HOT TEA (F).
- Look inside the samovar and take the final piece of the MEDALLIONS (G).
- Look at the window and place the BANNER SCROLL on the left (H).
- Press the open scroll (I).
- Look in the window seat for a HOS (J).
- Locate all the items on the list.
- You will earn the FLUX EMBLEM.
- Enter the portal, then walk down twice.
- Look at the plaque and place the FLUX EMBLEM in the hole (K).
- Press on the plaque to open the compartment (L).
- Take the POSTER PIECES, WALKING CANE, and the CYLINDER RECORD (M).
- Walk down twice to return to the cellar.
- Use the POSTER PIECES on the poster for a mini-game (N).
- Restore the poster by placing the pieces in the correct position jigsaw-style (O).
- Pieces will snap together when correct.
- Look at the record player and place the CYLINDER RECORD on it for a message (P).
- Take the piece of the gazing post (pink).
- Look at the keypad and enter the code 12-21-20-12 (Q). You can find the code in your journal (R).
