Experts vs. Novice Craps Players

In any game, there are two kinds of players: experts and novices. The former will play to make money. He also loses but only very little compared to the latter. Novices will lose all his money in a matter of hour. It is important to know how these two play so that you will get an idea how a game, craps on this matter, should be played. While watching them, you will learn what should and should not be done.

Experts

Bet control is substantial for these players. It is to distinguish which bets place and which bets should be avoided. This is in relation with the house advantage, taking into consideration the number combinations possible in craps. They play the game on a moderate pace. Most craps experts only place bets on Pass Line and Come bets and certain Place bets. The don't want to place bets on Field, Proposition, Big 6 and Big 8 bets. The chance of winning on those are less. Often times, they win a big amount of money but they also have their unlucky days. The worst scenario for them is having a small loss. In fact, you can tell them apart from the rest because they are the ones who are buying rounds of drinks.

The primary strategy of experienced craps players is simple: always place free odds on line bets. The house has no advantage on the free odds, which make the probability of winning very high. For example, the edge of the casino in the Pass Line Bet is 1.4%. It will eventually drop to 0.8% when you place free odds. When you double your original bet, it will make the house edge much lower. Therefore, the higher bet you place, the lower the house edge becomes.

Novices

Novice players are the ones considered amateurs on the game of craps. If they have knowledge about the game, it is very limited. They do not know that they have to play a certain way to be able to win. They have no idea that the bets should be placed in a certain order. You can easily pin point the novices because they put their drinks on the table, they get distracted by the employees standing around the table and they don't give tip to the dealer. Most of all, you can distinguish them if they lose their money on the first thirty minutes or so of the game.

Most of these players believe that the outcome can be manipulated by the shooter by throwing the dice in such a way. This is completely false. Novice players will always think of a way to throw their dice the way that it can give them the number they wanted. They are not aware that the casino employees can declare your roll a 搉on-roll?ans worst, ban you from the casino.

Observing these two kinds of players can help you in playing craps. Just take note of their wrong moves and avoid it. Learn their techniques and implement it on your own game.
