Bingo Switches To Spanish Speaking Market
The growth of bingo in the United States and United Kingdom can only be described as phenomenal. In just a few years online bingo has thrown off its aged image, spread from a live game to an online game and not only become mainstream but in the UK has even been aired on the major TV channels. Many do though now feel that the US and UK online bingo markets are now saturated and that the next target should be Europe.
Many European countries such as Spain and Italy do play bingo so it is logical to assume these countries will be the targets of the established online bingo sites. My guess is that many of the UK sites will start to heavily market Spanish speaking players as this could be a very profitable. There are 21 countries where Spanish is spoken and don抰 forget millions of people in the US that use Spanish as their main language. Spain of course already has a bingo culture but in Central America in countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, these, to a large degree are untapped markets. In South America countries such as Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay again although perhaps to a lesser extend have great potential. The Caribbean also has many Spanish speaking countries such as Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rica and let抯 not forget Mexico in North America.
It is though much easier to market online bingo to countries that already have a strong bingo playing habit and this has been proven by the rapid growth of the game online in the UK and US. I thou for one believed that bingo would never become dominant online because it was a game mainly played by the over 50s and this age group is renowned for containing less computer and internet users than the lower age groups. Through clever marketing online and on mainstream UK TV the image of bingo has been cleverly rebuilt to appeal to all age groups. Many online bingo sites have signed well known celebrities to promote and endorse their brands ensuring that the aged 揵lue rinse?image of bingo past has been truly upgraded to make bingo almost sexy.
Attacking the Spanish speaking countries does make sense in many ways! Bingo is perhaps one of the easiest games to play as it requires no skill, games can be played in a few minutes and with the addition of chat rooms it does become a very social experience. Online bingo sites only need to make it big in one or two of the Spanish speaking countries to guarantee a decent return. Expect to see the major UK brands launching Spanish versions of their sites in the very near future. Also expect to see Spanish speaking celebrities endorsing these new sites and heavy marketing across the whole range of the Spanish speaking media.
I抦 sure the growth of Spanish bingo will be a success although I doubt that the growth will be as strong as what we have seen in the UK and US markets.
