If you are an RPG gamer, and have been playing Final Fantasy 12 for quite some time, you must’ve realized that money or gil is very crucial to progress further in the game storyline. With enough money, you can buy better weapons and accessories which will make your life easier in defeating those enemies. Otherwise you’ll just stuck with the default weapon which is bad anyway.
Therefore, knowing how to get a lot of money is important too. In Final Fantasy 12, the key to getting a lot of money is by selling loots or items dropped by enemies when you defeat them. Different item has different price and different enemy drops different item as well. Hence you must know which enemy to defeat in order to get rich quickly.
At an early stage of the game, the best way to get a lot of money is by defeating a creature called Dustia. Dustia is an undead creature which can be found at the Corridor of Sand in Dalmasca Westersand. Dustia is easily defeated by giving it a Phoenix Down which will kill it instantly. Hence even at a very low level, you can defeat it easily as it doesn’t involve any fight at all.
Dustia drops Flame Staff occasionally as well as the Book of Orgain which can be sold at 532 gil a piece. For an hour effort you can easily get 52000 gil without doing anything other than throwing phoenix down to Dustia. Moreover, you can level up your character easily this way as well.
The next method to get more money is by stealing Quality Hides from Werewolves in Giza Plain. Quality Hides sell for about 384 gil a piece. Sometimes you can get Teleport Stone as well but don’t sell them as they are needed if you want to teleport from one save point to another.
In order to steal effectively from werewolves, have two of your characters do the job while keeping the leader away from the wolves. As soon as they succeeded in stealing, run to the nearest save point and save yourself from being killed by the werewolves.
The final method is by far the most profitable one but you have to wait at a later stage of the game. The way to do it is by defeating Mirrorknight and collecting Windslicer Pinion that they drop. You have to do it by defeating them successively to increase the rate of getting Windslicer Pinion and getting them in large quantity each drop.
They sell for 1148 gil a piece so in about half an hour, you’ll be expecting to get about 110,000 gil for all your effort. Sometimes Mirrorknight drops Mirror Mail as well which has higher price than Windslicer Pinion and adds as bonus to your income.
If you’re looking to buy and collect every single weapon and accessory in the game, you certainly need a lot of gil to do so. Try and follow any or all of the methods listed above and you’ll be getting more gil than ever in no time for your shopping spree session in Final Fantasy 12.
