I have been playing poker for almost a year online. Now I wouldn’t say that im good, but im not bad either. I have found that I don’t want to wager my own money but I would really like to win some money. I began researching these tournaments. It really didn’t take long before I found a lot of information on these tournaments. They are referred to as “freeroll Tournaments.” A freeroll tournament is a poker game that is free to play but pays cash to the winners. The amount of money that is paid varies a lot. The most common is the 25 dollar tournaments. I have seen a few that are above 100 but usually they are under 100 dollars.
These tournaments were exactly what I was looking for. I could play for free but I played a lot harder knowing that I could win money if I played well.

This also had me wondering how these tournaments were free but also paid money to the winners. I did some more research. It took quite a bit of time to figure out how these paid money but after a couple of weeks I was able to find out how they could do this.
The reason the research took so long is because there are several reasons why these games pay the winners money. One of the biggest is to bring in more players. Each poker site offers these types of games because it attracts new players to the site.
Another reason is exposure to smaller poker sites. There are some poker sites that sponsor these games for its members. Once again the main goal is to attract more members to your site. On the internet traffic equals money.
