Let's face it, guys, any player who knows what a Treasure Goblin is in Diablo 3 RoS Patch 2.1.1 kills that thing harder than any elite. Even before the incentive to get into the Vault or the Goblin Treasure Realm, mobs get left behind and all the major skills get put into shaving the pygmy's life down to zero and picking up that loot. Now that killing these Treasure Goblins has a chance to give you even more goodies, these things are possibly the most-hunted monsters in all of Sanctuary.
So is there a viable way to hunt or farm Goblins? The seeding and spawning of these monsters is still random but they only spawn in the Story Mode and Bounties in Adventure Mode. Nephalem Rifts spawn useless goblins and Greater Rifts do not spawn them at all.
So the easiest way to find the little buggers is to go through Bounties in Adventure Mode or go looking for Infernal Machine Keys throughout all the maps.
Goblin Hunting made easier?
With Diablo 3 RoS Patch 2.1.1 update, though, you can find them on the mini-map. They'll appear as small blue portals. When you do find them, they'll also be right in front of their own portal--though not in a hurry to leave.
The Battle.net forums and other players think this is for players to easily find the goblins. How many times have a Demon Hunter's sentries hit a pygmy somewhere and you can't find where it is since most of the map is unexplored?
How do you increase the rate of goblins encountered?
The solution to this buff that players keep asking the devs is simple yet for more of us, utterly impossible--equip a Legacy Puzzle Ring.
The Legacy Puzzle Ring only dropped before Loot 2.0, before Reaper of Souls was implemented. The old ring had a chance to spawn a goblin whenever the character gets hit. Today, the Puzzle Ring gives you an annoying pet goblin tio pick up your stuff and replace it with a Legendary Item proc.

If you ask me, the goblins tied to the Loot 2.0 Puzzle Rings must be on Greed's shit list. Following around Nephalem like a pet and picking up stuff to vomit a possible yellow or orange item. But they make up for their bad lot by annoying everyone in your party with their awful chortling.
Boon of the Hoarder nerfed?
According to the Diablo 3 RoS Patch 2.1.1 changes, the Boon of the Hoarder Legendary Gem now procs lesser mounds of gold but with increased gold in each pile. So it's not really a nerf but more an aesthetic improvement, as the Blizzard devs mentioned. They said that it's to keep the screen less cluttered with gold.
Why would you want to see less gold anyway? I really liked to fields of yellow when an Exploding Palm kills a whole mob.
