Facing the ongoing uproar involving the nerf on swtor companion, Bioware has finally worked out a way to make balance by buffing the companions a bit. Details were updated in game patch notes 4.0.2a with some other updates like fixing corpse issue and Legacy Bank entry from first tab etc.

Swtor companions healing & damage increased

After listening to these days' complaints about the nerf to companions since patch 4.0.2 and collecting lots of players' feedback, Bioware has admitted that they went too far away nerfing companion that make contents arduous for many players, and announced to buff companions a bit to make balance days before, and now we can see the details with the publication of outputs amounts
1. Companion healing has been increased by approximately 48%.
2. Companion damage has been increased by approximately 15%.
3. Companion base stats have been increased by approximately 15%.
So we can see that companion healing, damage, and base stats have been increased. However, the precise amount will be dependent on influence level and character level. With these changes, Bioware is aiming at making contents challenging but not impossible, so you will need to pay some efforts to walk through the content.

Some other updates in swtor patch notes 4.0.2a

In addition to the most concerned companion problem, patch notes 4.0.2a also brought some important fixes. Firstly, in general, players who had items in their Legacy Bank beyond the first tab that were not properly updated in 4.0 can now log in, meaning that players can get their items back more than 1 month later. Besides, it has fixed the corpse issue to make many sections of the game playable, though there may still be occasional instances of the issue occurring. Secondly, from Missions and NPC aspect, players are now able to start Class-specific Missions on Rishi, and the order you speak to NPCs in Chapter IX can no longer stop progression.

Though there are still some issues players expect to get fixed, such as the final bounty hunter quest with the empty ship instead of Darth, Bioware will finally solve all with further effort in patch 4.0.3 or so.
