In World of Warcraft, the auctioneers have been placed in each capital cities. An auctioneer is relevant to the race. It permits trading in alliance gamers or in horde games. The auction houses in each city function independently. The auctioneers in a city belong to the same auction house.
An auction house that is not related to races is located in Gadgetzan. The functions of the auctioneers here are the same as the auctioneers in other places, but it permits the trades between alliance gamers and horde gamers.
A seller can talk with an auctioneer to put in the item he wants to auction. He can set the starting price, duration time and a final price. All of the auctions charge gamers' deposit in advance. The deposit will be refunded to the gamers if the items that are put in auction house are successfully sold. Auction commission will be charged for all of successful deals. It is directly charged from a final price. The fees I mention above are comparatively higher in Gadgetzan auction house.
A buyer can talk with an auctioneer to search for the item he wants, to bid and to buy an item with a final price. A gamer can't bid for the item in his own account. All of the items you get on the final bid will be sent to you by the mail system in the game.
Now, let's talk about the knacks of an auction.
1. The time of an auction
The longer time you set for your auction, the more deposit you should pay. If possible, you should try to set a shortest time; otherwise, the deposit is much precious. If you can't sell your item, you will lose your deposit.
2. What can you sell?
If you think there are possibly no gamers who are interested in your certain item, you don't auction it. If you can't sell it, you will lose your deposit. You can search what kind of item are auctioning and find out what item other gamers are looking for.
