Combat Arms is a multiplayer modern day video game with no single player mode. The game contains various modes of playing which includes: One Man Army, Elimination, Capture The Flag, Search and Destroy, Elimination Pro, Last Man Standing, Bombing Run and other variations with objectives. It also has the multiplayer co-op called the Fireteam mode and the Quarantine mode. Although this highly interactive game is currently available in certain geographical areas, we explore.
Like other combat games out there, Combat Arms uses a real life combat simulation that allows players to earn prize money in the form Gear Points (GP) and experience after each match. The experience creates rank hierarchies and the funds procure new weapons and other necessary warfare equipments like uniforms and ammo.
The ranking system used is similar to the common real life military ranks where players fight to earn. It also has a rental system option where the players are allowed to rent weapons and other war gears for varying periods of 1, 7, 30, 90 day(s). Once purchased, some gears are permanent while some have a time length after which it is deleted from the player's inventory. There are also options to purchase unmarked weapons on the Black Market using real life money. In fact, certain weapons, including permanent ones can only be procured on the Black Market.
Being an FPS game, it can only be downloaded and played with an online connection. Any eligible player can log on and war with other competitive shooters online.
The testing of the game is currently done in phases; the current phase which is open to the public is being tested in North and South America and the Oceania.
Reviews on Combat Arms assert it to be fun if one overlooks the often annoying players. There are various competitive team-based tournaments in North America and Europe.
Owing to the perceived violent nature of the game, the legal age is to be able to download the game and play is 17.
