In this continuing series of articles, I'd like to address some reasons why you might want to get an IP address from Argentina. Actually, for any country in the world, there are bound to be a number of people that want their internet presence to appear from that region. This country is no different. Basically, there are two types of people that may want an IP from Argentina.
Locals who are abroad and have discovered that they can't access some websites
Non-Locals who want to get back their original identity online
Though there aren't cool streaming sites from Argentina, there are still quite a few reasons to get an internet address from there.
For one, gaming is a huge thing, no matter what country you're from. For gaming purposes, you can use a local IP. First, it'll give you an Argentinean identity, so you can play as if you were an actual citizen (or at least located there). If you're abroad for a year for school or work, this will help you maintain your true identity. Second, and perhaps more important, a VPN can be used to filter traffic and reduce lag for some games. When you do this, and you're already in the country, it makes the most sense to keep an Argentinean IP, rather than change to another place.
Outside of gaming, some sites just work faster when you have a local IP. I went traveling to Malaysia recently, and I found that some of my favorite news sites and blogs were extremely slow. Part of the problem was slow internet connections on the islands, but part of it was the problem of the actual location. When I signed into my US VPN (I'm from the US), the sites were much faster. The same will hold true for sites that are hosted in Argentina. No matter where you are in the world, using this software to change your IP can increase the speed of your connection.
A third reason to use a VPN to get an IP address from Argentina is for online security and privacy. Regardless of whether you're currently in Buenos Aires or somewhere abroad, you can use a virtual private network connection to hide your real internet address and prevent eavesdropping, packet sniffing, and other passive and active hacks through your IP. A VPN not only hides your true identity, it also uses proactive encryption methods to prevent others from stealing or viewing your data. Of course, you can choose any country's address (thus identity) through a private network service provider, though locations will vary.
In fact, if you use a VPN service to get an IP from Argentina, some services offer combo packages that allow you to access VPN servers in other countries too! This means you could use a US IP sometimes and a Japanese one other times. Combo packages may offer a range of 5, 10, 20, or 50 other countries depending on the service and the package you choose. Some discount services may offer only one country, but they will probably not have VPN servers in Argentina. These types of services will most likely only have more popular locations like The US, The UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Canada, and Holland.
