The-popularity-of video games seems to rise every year and the more hit games they create just adds to the fever. They market the games so they can entertain groups of all ages. It seems as though is it not only the young kids who get addicted to these games. Adults find themselves glued to the television, ignoring everything going on around them. This is what is effecting many relationships around the world, including marriages. So are video games the cause of many divorces worldwide?
That's what I wanted to find out, so I did some research. Many relationships are suffering because the men pay to-much attention to games instead of their wives. Usually the main causes of divorce were communication and financial problems, but gaming is quickly climbing the list. This year Divorce Online reported that men playing video games and ignoring their wives, resulted in 15 percent of divorces. That's a 10 percent rise in percentage points compared to last years 5 percent.
So are men the only one's to blame for this or is it mutual? Well, first of all I am sure that there are other problems in the relationship to begin with before the split happens. Like I said before, usually financial complications is the main struggle. Women deserve a certain amount of attention from their spouse and when they don't get it they become upset. Its only fair right, I am sure men like attention just as much. If you have a mutual level of respect in your relationship and compromise with your partner, than your chances of a successful marriage improves dramatically.
However, it has been proven that everyone needs some down time so they can just relax. Considering how busy our daily schedules can get, you must make time to relax or you will go crazy. So it is healthy to kick back and play some video games for a few hours. It helps take your mind off of every day stressors of life. You just can't neglect your wife and daily chores, you still have to-be productive.
If you can find a way to decompress and please your partner, than there-should-be not as much conflict. Compromising can go a long way, all it takes is a little effort. I am sure women have to unwind too and they have their own ways to blow off some steam. Relationships are not a one way street and the sooner you figure that out, the better off you will be.
In conclusion, to all the gamers out there who want to-be in a successful relationship. Just remember, communication is key and just by lending your partner an ear can go a long way. So before you sit down for a ten-hour gaming session, remember to butter her up a little first. This way when she's nagging in your ear, that you can-be doing something a little more productive. Its common sense, just get all of your chores done before you sit down to relax and play some video games.
