In World of Warcraft, the Auction house is the king of the economy. You can do some minor bartering here and there, but for the most part, if you are looking to make WoW Gold, you need to be working on the auction house. Read on to learn a few different strategies that I have used to make WoW Gold on the Auction house.
Farming and Gathering – You would be surprised what people will buy. That’s why you never want to throw anything out until you’ve done a full scan of the auction house for the items in your inventory. Meats, feathers, murloc’s eyes, and clams; these all have some demand on the auction house, and someone is willing to pay good money for them. You can also go the route of gathering professions. There’s no wrong way to make WoW gold here.
Crafting – Crafting professions can be a drag to level up. However, they can also be profitable if you know how. Look at the patterns and recipes for items that you are capable of creating. Now cross check them on the auction house. See if they are worth crafting. Even better, see if they will sell for more than the cost of the materials. Selling while leveling a crafting profession can actually WoW gold, IF you know what you’re doing.
Flipping – This is the riskiest, but also the easiest and most profitable way to make WoW Gold. It doesn’t require any professions, and it doesn’t require any farming. However, you need to invest some gold to buy an item at a high price, and then re-list it at a higher price. In some instances, you can buy out an entire market of a particular item, and mark up the price to a ridiculous amount. I only recommend this tactic if there is a limited amount to begin with. However, you can easily control a market and make a serious killing with this tactic. But make sure you know what you are doing because you can buy too much and someone can seriously under cut you later, making that a worthless investment.
Add-ons – There are some great auction house addons and farming addons. You will want to learn these tools and use them to study your server’s economy. These tools are vital for making gold in WoW. This will allow you to see what people are buying, what items are under priced and can be flipped, and much more data. There are also add-ons that will provide you the proper paths for farming and gathering. I personally use Manaview’s Tycoon. This addon actually takes care of all of those functions and more.
