WoW Death Knight Leveling Guide

The Death Knight is World of Warcraft’s first and currently only Hero Class. You begin at level 55, and unlock your talents and abilities as you progress through your initial quest chain. By the time you finish your starting grounds, you should be level 58, and ready to head to outland. That’s where this Death Knight Leveling Guide comes in.

Death Knight Leveling Guide Part 1: Getting Started

First things first, you want to pick a good leveling spec. And to be honest, they’re all pretty awesome. However, I would have to say that 2-Handed Frost is probably the best overall leveling and questing spec. But that’s ok, because you’re already level 58 and you can train Dual Spec. I would definitely pick Blood for your second spec. When you’re leveling, you may find yourself low on life, so you will want to change specs to blood and regenerate some of that lost health with a few Death Strikes, and maybe a rune tap if you really need it. However, the Glyph of Dark Succor (Prime) gives you a nice heal regardless of spec. That should keep you going non stop while questing. These are also excellent dungeon specs. Blood is your primary tanking spec, while Frost and Unholy are also very powerful DPS specs.

Death Knight Leveling Guide Part 2: Gear

Well you’ve probably already realized that you’ve got some pretty sweet gear as you start out on your own. And you won’t be replacing it any time soon. That’s one of the perks of having a hero class. Well the first piece of gear you want to upgrade is your bags. That’s just a given for more loot and more gold. When you do need to start replacing your equipment, you want to make sure it’s all plate gear, and that you’re looking for stats like strength, hit, expertise, haste, mastery, and crit. All of these provide a significant boost to your damage, increasing your leveling effectiveness. Unless you are specifically specced for dual wielding, use a big slow, hard hitting, two handed sword, axe, mace, or pole-arm. You will also want to make sure your gear is rune-forged. This is a unique Death Knight ability to basically add a free enchant to your weapon. Fallen Crusader is the best runeforge once it’s available.

Death Knight Leveling Guide Part 3: Professions

A Death Knight has a slight disadvantage in professions since you start off at a higher level without any professions chosen. That means that if you want to continue leveling at a fast rate, you should probably pick up skinning and mining. These are the two easiest skills to level, and provide crit rating and stamina, which help the leveling process significantly. However, on the other hand, if you are good at making Gold in WoW, you can easily and quickly power level blacksmithing, jewelcrafting, enchanting, alchemy, or any other profession you see fit. If this is the route you choose, I would recommend a good WoW Gold Guide. That makes life in the World of Warcraft much easier on all levels.

In my reviews of different WoW Leveling Guides, and WoW Gold Guides, I have learned a lot of tips and tricks, that not only made the game much easier, they also made the game enjoyable again, and not so much of a chore or a way of life. Leave me some Street Talk and let me know what you think. What’s your favorite Class and Spec?
