In order to “master” Diablo 3, first you need to decide which aspect of the game you really want to excel at. What is your ultimate goal? Are you trying to reach level 60 quickly? Do you want to find better gear? Or maybe you are more financially-minded and are looking to obtain more gold? Regardless of what your endgame is, there is a solution. Here I wanted to share a few tips that have worked for me in Diablo 3.
Leveling Up – Point and click. This is what most people will tell you; all you need to do is spend enough time fighting and eventually you will make it to level 60. And while this is obviously true, we are trying to avoid spending an unnecessary amount of time. Our goal is to get to level 60 as quick as possible. Accomplishing this goal depends on which class you are using, but there are a few general tips that will still help you out. For example, make sure all of your gear has at least +10 experience per kill on it. All of this adds up quickly, especially if you can find three naturally occurring bat hives that are together. Start killing bats without killing the hives, and the combos you generate will skyrocket your experience points. Another method you could use is to join someone else's game right before they complete a quest, then you will share in the experience, but many people may (understandably) consider this unfair.
Finding Better Gear – The most obvious way of obtaining better gear is through the auction houses, where you could either use your in-game gold to buy gear from someone, or use your real-world money at the Real Money Auction House (RMAH) to buy better gear. This is the easiest option, but potentially the most expensive. An alternative to the auction houses is using Magic Find gear against stronger monsters. If you can obtain gear that has a total magic find percentage of at least 80% or so, you should be good.
Getting More Gold – The Auction House adds an interesting new dynamic to Diablo 3 when it comes to obtaining gold, simply because one could technically treat it like the stock market. You know, buy low and sell high. What makes it even more interesting, though, is the RMAH. People are becoming interested in selling their gold and gear for real-world cash. Legendary items are becoming popular in the RMAH. If you can manage to buy some low and then sell them high, you will have it made. Simply rinse and repeat. I have also heard of many people selling their rare items on the RMAH and making a nice sum of money.
There are countless ways to approach Diablo 3. Ever since the game was released, players have been constantly sharpening their methods to a fine point. Even now, new Diablo 3 strategies are being developed. No matter how you choose to approach the game, remember that it is still a game, and have fun with it!
