Tomb Raider 2013 Lara Croft Is Back!

Tomb Raider is a video game that is full of action and adventure. It is the 5th title in Tomb raider franchise introduced by the Crystal Dynamics. This open world game brings together platforming, survival mechanics, action-adventure, and exploration. The players will get the main story along with an opportunity to explore the island, challenging tombs search, revisit places, and perform many side quests.

As per the game developers, 3 kinds of games are available for multi-players that can be played in 5 varying maps. Two enemy teams will be there for every game that is 4 scavengers and 4 survivors who will either work towards bringing medical supplies or eliminate the opposite team to certain destinations in the map. They can also activate special features or set traps.

As the game starts, Lara sets out on first expedition of hers abroad on a ship named Endurance in search of lost Yamatai, a Japanese kingdom which is also home to Sun Queen Himiko who is a legendary shaman queen holding mystical power. Those who travel with Lara include an old friend from Croft family as well as former Royal Marine known as Joslyn Reyes. Her team also includes a computer specialist Alex, a fisherman Jonah Maiava, the helmsman Angus, Samantha, best friend to Lara as well as group’s camerawoman, lastly Dr. James Whitman who is celebrity archaeologist looking for escaping bankruptcy and desperate in making a big finding.

Going against the advice of Whitman, Lara and her group starts searching in Dragon’s Triangle which is a region infamous for violent storms and missing ships. A violent storm struck the ship which splits into half and stands every member of the isolated island. Before Lara can reach to her group, she gets captured by some savage, strange man who traps her in the cave house. She somehow is able to escape but suffers many injuries in the escape act where that house collapses and her captor dies. She starts searching for other survivors on the island and hears some strange sounds that come from ritualistic carvings that show signs of habitation. Eventually she meets Sam and Mathias who tell her that they are one among the passengers. Sam narrates legends of Himiko during which Lara goes into deep sleep and on waking finds Sam and Mathias nowhere.

While she is looking for them, some wolves attack her and she is saved by Alex, Whitman, Grim Jonah, and Reyes. Whitman and Lara leave off to look for Roth while rest of the members look for Sam. Lara and her companion are made prisoners by islanders worshiping Himiko. Lara kills the leader and sees storm appearing and some people tell her that Sam is in some ancient Japanese palace. After several tragic, exciting, and enthralling events, Lara is able to destroy remains of Himiko thereby saving Sam. After dispersing of the storm, Reyes, Jonah, Sam, and Lara leave that island after getting on a cargo ship. Her friends leave for their home and she sees many more myths that are to be found and resolves uncovering them. Hope you enjoy this tomb raider game review.
