The project was successfully put through the efforts of Playfish and Maxis with their talented people. While EA is looking forward for a massive launching on Facebook soon and currently in closed beta, SimCity Social is introducing groundbreaking innovations, set to deliver a real city-building simulation, giving players the freedom to create expansive cities that come to life as a result of player-driven options. Much more of saying, SimCity is not the usual city-building game that players used to play in Facebook, yet still preserves the core features of the original SimCity Social that was launched two decades ago.
The Vice President of Global Studios for Playfish Jami Laes, extends his gratitude and excitement for bringing back a game that popularized the city-building genre in the gaming industry, and was expected to hopefully repeat its renowned history. He also noted how the game become more extensive more complex definitely not the usual drag and drop city-building game.
“Facebook gamers have been waiting a long time for the original and best city-building game to come to the platform,” said Jami. “This isn’t your typical drag and drop city-building game. Players don’t just build a city – they choose the kind of city they want and watch its soul come to life as it grows and reacts to their decisions. With SimCity Social, we’ve taken the best in social gaming design and married it with unprecedented depth to create an all-new deeply social experience.”
Meanwhile, Sean Ryan, Director of Games Partnerships, Facebook also expresses his warm welcome to EA’s new title and extends his gratitude of dragging the critically-acclaimed franchise in town.
“Over the years EA has continued to bring major brands such as The Sims to Facebook,” said Sean Ryan, Director of Games Partnerships, Facebook. “SimCity Social is a great addition, and we look forward to another high quality game becoming available to the hundreds of millions of people who play games on Facebook each month.”
SimCity Social is set to deliver a deep sense of simulation game experience. The entire game does not follow a linear path; cities evolve as a direct result of players options which twist the events. Players as mayor, will address unforeseen issues like fires, crime and pollution, and will make crucial decisions that will help them to find out how their cities are molded. Social interactions in SimCity Social go far beyond just visiting friends’ cities or asking few bricks from them, Players can choose to create friendly relationships or form an intense rivalry with other cities, which is allowed through a dynamic and ever-evolving friend and foe system.
Furthermore, SimCity Social appears EA answer to Zynga’s CityVille. Seemingly, SimCity Social is coming to Facebook not just to change the simulation game view, but as well to claim what EA believes SimCity rightfully owns as pioneers of city-building genre, its name and integrity as the true king of the hill.
