Do you perceive that, in different battlegrounds from different fictions, the win-loss percentage is too distinct? Recently, MMO Champion has exposed an interesting graph about the win-loss percentage in different battlegrounds from different fictions. It shows the imbalanced win-loss percentage in the game. As we all know, this data is not as accurate as that of Blizzard’s. However, Blizzard’s Senior PvP Designer Brian Holinka has claimed it is accurate, because the maps have imbalances.
@Demonflavor The general trend looks accurate. We’ve done this comparison in RBGs to see if those maps have imbalances (they don’t).

Interestingly, Holinka deleted his statement that maps are imbalanced. Even so, the graph clearly shows the huge gaps between win and loss, especially in Isle of Conquest and Alterac Valley.
In Isle of Conquest, if it is easier for Alliance to win than Horde, because the Docks are closer to their base than that of Horde, how could Horde get over 56% win percentage? Compared with MMOC’s 2011 figures, this time, Alliance has got over 84% win percentage. This huge gap may lead to the resistance of Horde for Isle of Conquest. In fact, Horde players are at a disadvantage that their experienced players are often newer players in Isle of Conquest, and unable to stop the Alliance. So the experienced PvP players will downvote it.
As for Alterac Valley, it may be the most downvoted battleground of all. Many players claim that Alliance has a slight map advantage, but it is just a rumor. Personally, Alliance’s victory is from their established strategy, which is “run to the end and hope somebody captures towers.” It seems that the strategy is used for attacking the inexperienced teams, and it is indeed. But at least Alliance has a strategy while Horde doesn’t.
Speaking of the battleground that Alliance downvotes, it may be Strand of the Ancients, but it doesn’t mean all Alliance players downvote it, and it is just a trend. Honestly, there is no map bias, because these two sides are attacking and defending the same map. But Alliance’s win chance in this battleground is not as large as that in IoC and AV, it may be a start for Alliance to vote down it.
Actually, although Blizzard claims it is accurate in some degree, players needn’t mind of this graph. What we should pay attention to is Blizzard’s adjustment and we cannot assert that Horde is bad at Alterac Valley and Isle of Conquest, and Alliance is bad at everything else. Due to the rapid changes in game, players should prepare enough for it. If you need WOW gold to buy the necessities in game, safewow.com can provide you with the cheapest ones.
