Useful Starcraft 2 Fusion Core Tactics

Using the Terran race to play Starcraft 2 is commonly an exciting experience. Not only is it one of the most balanced races but it also has a couple of interesting buildings. These buildings are stable and can with withstand an attack pretty well. If you wish to utilize Battlecruisers while playing online then you need to master the Starcraft 2 Fusion Core tactics.

For those novices who do not know what a Fusion core is, it is a 3.5 tier building that unlocks Battlecruiser technology. It also allows research for various upgrades of the Battlecruiser. So, with this building, you will be able to build Battlecruisers. However, you need a Startport to unlock it. So you have to build one before construction of a Fusion Core.



Upgrades at this building are also available. You can research upgrades such as the Behemoth-Reactor or a Weapon Refit. The Weapon Refit upgrade is crucial, since it allows your Battlecruisers to use the powerful Yamato Cannon which causes more damage to enemy units from a longer range. With this kind of firepower you can destroy your enemies easily and turn the tide of battles.

Creating a fusion core is not easy. It requires a reasonable amount of resources. The resources required for the building itself would be 150 minerals, 150 gas, a startport and an SCV. The time it takes to build it is 65, which is also quite high. Therefore you must have adequate resources before building one and it is also advisable that you build it later in the game.

However, what the Fusion Core lacks in price, it compensates with protection. It is an Amoured-Mechanical-Structure. This means it is a very well protected building that can withstand an attack for a while. Looking at the stats, you will notice that it has +750 hit points and 1 amour.

Researching the Behemoth Reactor and Weapon Refit technologies using this building also comes at a hefty price. You need 150 minerals and 150 vespene gas to research the Weapon Refit. This enables you to access the Yamato Cannon ability, which is a must if you are planning on using the Battlecruisers extensively in your battle.

The Behemoth Reactor also comes at a similar price, 150 minerals and 150 vespene gas. With this upgrade, the starting energy of your Battlecruisers is increased. This, however, is not a must and is only advised if you are constantly producing Battlecruisers. So, you can sometimes ignore it if you are playing a 1 versus 1 match.

This and other advanced buildings such as Amory, Ghost academy, Startport and Factory are rather useful when playing as a Terran. They are expensive, but very useful in ensuring that you remain in the game during the later stages. Therefore you should gather a lot of resources so as to be able to construct them. You can establish map control or try rapid expansion tactics to ensure that you take control of most minerals and gas in the game so that you can have adequate resources to build these advanced structures and units.
