Some Starcraft 2 Baneling Tactics

Starcraft 2 Baneling tactics involve using these units that have an explosive attack. This explosion causes the creature to burst out showering burning acid. The rapid explosion gets rid of the baneling and also inflicts damage on nearby enemy units and structures. Their attack does not damage friendly units.

These creatures are capable of destroying groups of infantry and vehicles. The lethality of these creatures is promoted by their ability to burrow once researched. A seemingly safe region can quickly turn into a hazard as these monstrosities flare up underneath their adversaries. If used correctly they will not give the enemy time to react before detonating.

When making extensive use of banelings you should research the Centrifugal Hooks upgrade at the baneling nest which increases the speed of this fragile explosive units.

Banelings should be combined with zerglings when engaging different races. This is because banelings have slightly less health than zerglings and cost more as well.

Another good approach would be to burrow some of these creatures near choke points. Usually, an opponent will drive an army that is customarily close together. One can then set up these creatures in a staggered arrangement and strike when the army is in your field.

Another prospect would be to place a pair of banelings around Xel'Naga towers. This could be used in conjunction with other units waiting elsewhere to ambush your opponent. The foe will come to take it and destroy your units. This is great occasion for a player to pop the banelings and kill off the scouting units while ambushing the opponent with other units.

Another approach is burrowing them near a possible enemy expansion point around the minerals. When the opponent expands to this location, hold your fire until they construct a headquarters building and transfer some workers. After they have set up their new expansion, ambush and kill as many workers as possible with the burrowed banelings.

A player should continue creating zerglings while attacking the opponent with banelings as baneling numbers tend to diminish quickly due to their unique attack.

Use the banelings to also destroy wall ins. Protoss and terrain like to wall themselves in so you should take advantage of the fact that banelings inflict extra damage on structures. This can be done by running a group of the explosive creatures to attack the enemy buildings and destroy them. After the destruction has been carried out, order the remaining units into the enemy's base.

At all times you should watch and spy on your opponent. This is because knowing whatever your enemy is planning to do can be of great help to assist you in winning the game. Learning these baneling tactics will help you be in control of the game and win as Zerg.
