A Ride To My Friend’s House
A few months ago I managed to get in contact with a very old school friend of mine via social networking site Facebook. I have not been on Facebook for very long as I am not the most technically minded person. However we made contact and began chatting via the online chat. It soon became evident that we had gone down very similar paths in our lives. Emma, my friend, had qualified as a primary school teacher just like me and we both had three children and a Dalmatian dog. After spending a lot of time chatting online we decided that it would be nice to meet up. I offered to drive over to her house in Yorkshire and she gave me her postcode and address so that I could find it with my “sat nav”.
I live in Lancashire and my friend lives in Yorkshire. I knew the drive would take me about one hour and I was looking forward to some nice county scenery. After an hour my “sat nav” informed me that I had arrived at my destination. I presumed it must be wrong as I was sitting outside a county house hotel or a manor house. Just I was about to call my friend and tell her that I was a little lost I saw a lady waving at me from the house. I soon realized that it was Emma. Apparently her husband owns an oil company and they have done rather well for themselves.

I was glad that my friend Emma had not changed at all. She was still the same sweet girl I remember from college. I enjoyed our chat and playing lady of the manor, even though it was only for a few hours.
