Risen 3 Guide: How To Close Crystal Portals

One of the main objectives in Risen 3 is to close down the Crystal Portals scattered throughout the world. There are five portals to take care of before you can beat the game. This guide will help you figure out how to close the portals and where to find them!

Destroying Crystal Portals

Talk to Eldric in the Citadel and talk to him about the crystal portals. Eldric will tell you that he closed one on the island already. Ask him to teach you how to close the portals and after a cut scene you will know how to close the portals. There is another portal on Calador you will need to close but you can’t access it right away.

Each of the main islands will have a portal that you need to close. After you clear the caves and beat the shadow lords you will be able to close it. After you close a portal report to the leader on each island for a bonus reward and extra EXP. Taranis and Calador have two portals that you cannot access until later in the story. Thief Island and Fog Island do not have a portal to destroy. After you close all the portals return to Bones on your ship and he will give you a ton of EXP and some gold. Don’t forget that you need to destroy a portal on Crab Coast as well.

Be sure to tell the leader of each island that you killed a Shadow Lord for extra gold and EXP. After all the portals have been shut you can move on with the game! Check back soon for more guides.
