With a customization system as expansive as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it’s not a surprise to find yourself wasting Ability Points when leveling. This The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Guide: How To Re-Spec Your Character is the answer as you can pay to refund all of your Ability Points and choose to spend them in other skills entirely.
It is possible that there are multiple ways to refund your Ability Points and re-spec your character in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and if I should discover more I’ll be sure to update the guide. The earliest stage I was able to re-spec my character was approximately level 5 in Velen. Following the main quest line I completed the Witch Hunt quest and then Keira asked if I was visit her at her home in the far South Western town of Midcopse. This is also the same location as the Velen Side Quest, An Invitation From Keira Metz. When you get to her house simply engage in conversation and ask to view her wares.
At the bottom of her stock screen you’ll notice a green bottle with a skull on the front. It’s called a Potion of Clearance and it “Returns all spent Ability Points to the available pool so that you can redistribute them” and costs 1000 gold.
