One of the many side activities in The Witcher 3 is horse racing. This The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Guide: Horse Racing Guide, Locations, Rewards & Tips includes all of the information you’ll need to discover all of the horse races, finish in pole position and improve your horse with a variety of equipment upgrades.
When racing there are a few things you can do to improve your chances of victory. Firstly ensure that you pay close attention to the mini-map. Don’t be tricked by the white path leading to your current quest objective, you want to follow the thick black line the entire way through. It’s also worth avoiding any large bets on the first race of each track so that you can learn the route for easier victories in the future. Once you know the route I found it easiest to travel at slow speeds for the first 2-3 checkpoints, or however many I need to reach so that I’m able to sprint for the remaining check points, and then hit maximum speed for the rest of the race.
Location: Crow’s Perch Notice Board
Notes: Head South West of Crow’s Perch to speak with Radko and begin the races
Opponents: Stuttering Matko, Iron-Arse Hans, Black Bodgan
Rewards: Racing Saddle (+40 Stamina), Saddlebags (30 Maximum Inventory Weight), Horse Blinders (20 Horse’s Fear Level)
Crowns: Maximum bet of 50. Total reward of 90 Crowns without betting when defeating all 3 opponents.
Tips: Follow basic racing guidelines highlighted above. On the third opponent (Black Bodgan) make sure you are not in first by the 3rd checkpoint. An explosion causes first place to ignite and slow, avoiding this makes for easy victory.
