Destiny - Grayor, Wolf Assassin Bounty

This page will show you how to find and kill Grayor, Wolf Assassin by visiting the Mothyards on Earth. This Queen’s Wrath Bounty is part of the Destiny: House of Wolves DLC.

To pick this Bounty up, visit The Reef and speak with Petra Venj. She’s just to your left and up some small steps when you spawn in. Her stock refreshes every Tuesday, so if you don’t see this Bounty it’s either not available, in your Inventory, or you’ve already completed it. Regardless of whether you have the Bounty, you can still track and kill Grayor, Wolf Assassin, and doing so will result in you being able to claim the rewards from a chest that can only be opened with an Ether Key. You’ll get this key when your enemy has been defeated.

Wanted: Grayor, Wolf Assassin

  • Experience: 4,500
  • QW Reputation: 250

Head to Orbit and set a course for Earth. You want to choose the Patrol option, and when you spawn in you should summon your Sparrow and move forward and to the left. There is really only one path you can take, so continue moving until you reach the Mothyards. If you’re not sure where you are, bring up your Ghost and that information will be displayed in the bottom left hand corner of your HUD (Heads up Display).

As soon as you enter the Mothyards there will be a grounded airplane with its wing acting as a ramp for you to get on top. Do so, then stay up there and survey the area. There is only a slim chance that any of the enemies in the Mothyards will attack you here, and if you have an Ice Breaker you can deal damage in any direction without concern.

Because Grayor, Wolf Assassin can take up to 10 minutes to spawn in, we normally just sit on this plane and relax. Grab a Patrol mission if you like, or participate in a Public Event if one kicks off, but stay on or near this plane until you see a message in the bottom right hand corner of your screen that says A Pack of Wolves is Prowling. This is your indication that the event is kicking off.

Your enemies will be dropped into the area via Fallen Skiffs, and the first waves will contain two foes that are of great interest, the Scorch Captains. When killed, these guys will drop Scorch Cannons, weapons that you can use to destroy your opponents during the following several waves of the fight. It should be noted that these Scorch Cannons are not on a timer, but do come with a limit of 10 rounds each, and once you fire all 10 they will disappear. Using them sparingly over the next few waves, saving your ammunition for the battle against Grayor, Wolf Assassin.

Your main target will arrive with the final wave, and it will take even a small team of Guardians a brief moment to kill this fool. We suggest the Scorch Cannons, but also use of any Heavy Weapons you might have, your Grenade, and definitely your Super Ability. If you are level 33 or higher, you should be able to solo this fight, although you will need to exercise caution.

Alone or in a group, the main key is to stay away from the melee of Grayor, Wolf Assassin, as it will send you to the grave in a big hurry. In fact, the plane we’ve mentioned several times is a great place to fight from, as Grayor tends not to chase you to the very top. We’ve sat here and pumped our target full of Ice Breaker rounds to end this fight with ease.

When the battle is over you should get notification that the Bounty is complete, but your work is not done. You will also see an Ether key in the bottom left hand corner of your screen, and this is what will allow you to snatch up some goods from a chest that spawns nearby. In total there are five locations, and they are as follows;

  • Underneath the wing of the airplane we’ve mentioned several times.
  • At the base of a wing to another airplane more toward the Forgotten Shore.
  • Behind a small rock, next to a plane and close to the cliffs.
  • Beside an old, broken down truck with a box trailer that is sunken into the ground.
  • Behind a medium sized rock, also close to the cliffs and the wing of a plane.

To give you more of an idea, the first two chest locations we mentioned are on the right when you enter the Mothyards from The Steppes, and the final three are to the left when you enter.

When you have completed your Bounty and claimed your reward from the chest, you can either head back to The Reef to claim your prize from Petra Venj, or you can continue on and complete more of the Bounties this week. Head back to our Destiny: House of Wolves Guide for a complete list.
