Destiny - Xur Location and Inventory for September 18 - Three of Coins

This page will show you where to find Xur in Destiny on September 18 and September 19. This is his first visit with Year 2 exotics, and we’ll run down everything he has in stock, as well as how much it will cost you. Since this is the first time he’s arrived since The Taken King launched, it’s extremely important that all Guardians pay him a visit and raise their Light level. After all, Oryx is inbound in just a few hours.

Xur’s Location

Xur can be found in Tower North. When you spawn into the Tower, turn to your left and run up the steps and into the building. Follow the corridor all the way to where you would turn left to visit with the Speaker, only look to your right. You will find Xur standing next to a large gate, just at the bottom of some steps. If you still aren’t sure where to go, just follow the line of Guardians who are headed in his direction.

Xur’s Inventory

Xur has some pretty good stuff for today. We say that because most Guardians have almost no Year 2 exotics, so anything is better than nothing. In fact, we bought everything he had, including a couple of helmet engrams for good measure. Take a look at his stock.

  • Legacy Engram (Heavy Weapon) - 32 Strange Coins
  • An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Young Ahamkara’s Spine (Hunter Gauntlets) - 13 Strange Coins
  • The Impossible Machines (Warlock Gauntlets) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Engram (Helmet Engram) - 19 Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins (Consumable) - 7 Strange Coins
One of the few times that you'll see Xur standing alone. He's a popular guy.

If you are looking for advice, buy everything but the Legacy Engram. That is just a Year 1 Exotic, so right now it’s not really going to help you to advance your characters in Year 2. If you are someone who runs all three Guardian types, buy up all the armor, as well as couple of the Helmet engrams if you can afford them. This will help you to begin filling out your exotic armor inventory as quickly as possible.

The Three of Coins is also something you’ll want to pick up. Actually, you’ll want to grab several, as they are only going to run you 7 Strange Coins each. These buffs give you an increased chance of getting an exotic drop when you kill an Ultra, and it’s stackable. If you’re wondering what an Ultra is, it’s an enemy with a yellow health bar, such as Valus Mau’ual or Valus Tlu’urn from the Shield Brothers Strike that came with The Taken King. Just so we’re clear, don’t go equipping this buff and then running around on patrol. Save it for the boss fights that you do in Strikes, Raids and even the Court of Oryx.
