Cityville – Establishing Your City (Levels 3 to 5)

Cityville – Establishing Your City

Universal Tip:
Try to do all your collecting in complete sessions. This adds up your bobnus meter and gives you more coins to use for your city.

Building your City Hall
With all the work of planting your flag, its time to get more official and build what will be your office. Again, go and click on the Build button in the bottom right. Click on the Community Buildings Button. City Hall is the first option on the left and the only option you have for now. Click on it and place its foundation. Unlike the other buildings, this one will take 5 energy to construct. Take your time and build it up. After it is completed, you will need to fill three positions. These can either be filled by residence of your city (for one city dollar a piece) or by your friends who also play the game. At last, after you fill the positions in Cityhall you will be nominated and elected mayor. Time for celebrations and to move onto the next goal.

Goal: Clear Trees
Now, Paul, the Lumberjack makes his appearance, time for you to learn how to get rid of trees that are in the way of some of your progress. You can click the 1 City Dollar and instantly complete this goal or  just hit Okay, then click on three trees that you feel like to chop them down. Each of these will take 1 energy but will give you more rewards overall. This will give you a Time Capsule which will contain something of a prize for you.

Opening the Time Capsule:
The Goal is to harvest 4 carrots from Rita's Farm. Guess it's time to head over to Rita's and take care of the goals there. When you do complete it, you are awarded 100 coins! This also opens up the Family Album and gives you a new Goal to clear a Neighbor's Trees, which will be covered in the next installment of this guide series.

Farming with Rita:
The goals here are simple, plant and harvest 4 crops. This goes very well with the goal above to harvest 4 carrots.
If you haven't already, you will have noticed the barn and the 4 plots of land by it. You can now harvest and collect the strawberries to receive a lot of goods. Now, after that, click on them. This will give you a chance to choose which crops to plant. For now, only 2 crops are available, Strawberries, which yield 15 goods each and grow in 5 minutes, great if you need more supplies. The second crop is Carrots; which yield 70 Goods but take  8 Hours to grow.

What does this mean:
Immediately, plant strawberries. They are very quick to grow at 5 minutes. Keep playing the game and continue to make progress on it. When you are about to stop for work, sleep or an outing, plant the carrots. This way, you will be very occupied during the 8 hours of growth time, This will also give your town a chance to build up some wealth and make you a lot of Gold which you can use for a number of things. This will also let you complete Rita's Goals the fastest, making room for more. I suggest doing the Pastry Tour while you wait for your first crop of Strawberries.

Reward for Farmin' With Rita:
A Gray Bunny

Begin the Pastry Tour!
The next goal is to examine a friend's city for two things: 1) A Business 2) A House. To do this, click on a friends picture on the bottom neighbor bar. Even if none of your friends are playing Cityville yet, you still have Samatha's city to visit to keep things moving and that's what we'll do.

Samatha's City For the Pastry Tour:
Click on Samantha's Portrait on the bar. You will have a single option: visit. Click on this to visit. You will be reward with 100 coins, 3 energy and 1 xp. You will also have 5 bits of special energy to use on your friend's town to help them improve the city. Move to the upper part of town to find a number of houses that are offering their rent. Click on one of them. You will be awarded some money and reputation. This levels up, just like you, giving both you and friends better bonuses for you coming by.  Move to the southern part of the city to find all of Samantha's businesses. It doesn't matter which one, just choose one and send a  tour Bus to complete the Pastry Tour Goal!

Goal: The  Lost Bunny
Riding on the coattails of “Farmin' With Rita” is “The Lost Bunny”. Click on Rita's Goal portrait to start it up.  She will tell you that you can place your bunny in your city from your inventory. Your inventory is found on the bottom right, in the menu button located above the Build button on the right. The inventory button is the middle option. I would suggest placing the Bunny next to a building or business to get a 1% bonus. You will get more now from that place and you are awarded 50 coins for your efforts.

Goal: Rita's Flower Garden
For this goal, you will need to plant 6 shade trees, 2 pink flowers and 8 blue flowers. All these can be found in the Build menu under decorations. Total, this will cost 600 for the Blue Flowers, 600 for the Pink Flowers and 600 for the Shade Trees. Make sure you have the 1800 and find a nice little area in your city for this. They will all give bonuses to things, so build up a little area to make for much better profits for you.

All the flowers are found in the decorations bar. You will need to click the orange scroll arrow on the right once to see them. The Blue Flowers take up one little square, as do the Shade Trees. The Pink Flowers are larger, using up a 2x2 area.  If all this links to one house or business, you can turn quite a bonus (Around 18%!). When you are done planting, click on the button above Build, on the left, to get the regular pointer back.  Your reward is 50 Goods.

Goal: The Fussy Baker
This is a very easy to complete goal. If you have time, you can ask your friends to send you some chocolate. If you want to keep moving, you can opt to spend 2 City Dollars to just complete it. Either way, you are awarded 1 energy.

Goal: Open a New Business
This goal introduces Edgar. He will tell you how he made his fortune. He will ask that you build a Toy Store, which requires a population of 100 or 4 Cash to unlock it early. Take some time to build some buildings, drawing more people to your town. Suburban Houses offer the best population boost at 40 population if you just want to spend coins. They take 2 energy to build. If you have some City Cash to spend, you can use 10 City Cash to get the Lake House and get 90 additional population. Your reward for completing this goal is 25 Goods.

Reaching Level 5
Now is a good time to consolidate your supplies. You've achieved a good bit but it's time to let your energy resupply. Just focus on your existing businesses, build up more Gold Funds and enjoy the game for a little.
