Cityville: Goals for a Flourishing City

Cityville: Goals for a Flourishing City

Even after level 5, the game still has more for you to do. This work-in-progress guide series will document them, tell you the reward and give advice on how to complete them most efficiently.

Goal: Build A New Park
You need to place an Arboretum in your city and add 3 more decorations around the town. Remember, by placing this near buildings, you gain a bonus to everything within a particular range of the item. You will receive 50 Goods for your efforts.

Goal: Place Picnic Tables
Now you meet Ruth who adores pigeons … anyway, she wants you to place 2 Picnic tables and 5 Shade Trees. For this easy goal you are awarded 50 Goods.

Goal: Move Ruth’s Picnic Tables
Here, you learn how to move things around. Under the arrow menu, you will find the option to move anything that you have placed in your town. You need to move 2 of the Picnic Tables and 2 of the Shade Trees that you’ve placed around your town. This gets you 50 coins.

Goal: Harvest Bird Feed
This one is easy to do as well, it just takes some time as Corn needs 24 hours to grow. You will want to plant 2 additional plots for growing plants so you can just do everything in a single day. Otherwise, with the default 4 plots, it will take 2 days. For your efforts you will awarded with a Museum you can place in your city and build.

Goal: Place Museum
You need to take the Museum from your inventory and place it where you can find space for it in your city. Remember that this requires materials to build. Talk with your friends or use your City Dollars to fund it.

Goal: Unlock Love Letter
This one is simple to do, plant and harvest 6 crops. When you do, you will receive this capsule that will unlock and you receive 1 energy for your efforts.

Goal: Increase Population
This one will take some time as you will need to build a number of structures to reach close to the Population of 500. You will want to get a Library, the Zynga Gazette and other buildings to boost up your city. You will also need to collect from Businesses 15 times, but that is quick and easy to do. You will be rewarded with the Grade School Building.

Goal: Helpin’ Rita
Time to help your farmer friend again around the town. It’s a simple task, harvest 6 Strawberries and collect from 12 houses. All you need to do is wait 5 minutes for the strawberries to ripen. Likely you will have a number of houses just waiting for you to collect from them. Just take your time. Your reward is 2 XP.

Goal: Crop Help
This is easiest if you have a few friends who also play CityVille. You need to harvest 5 crops from your neighbor and water 5 of them as well. This can be done easiest with a few friends. For your time you receive 1 Energy.

Goal: Build School
This is a deceptively simple goal set to you by Louise. You need to place your grade school and build it. Talk with your friends to get all the materials you need or use your City Dollars to power through it. Your reward is a Swing Set Playground.

Goal: Build a Playground
Louise will ask you to do this to help out all the children in your city. All you need to do is place the playground from the last goal then place 5 decorations around the town. Again, try to get it all in one area so your buildings benefit from the bonuses conferred by decorations. Your reward is the item: Stop Sign.

Goal: School Safety
Louise will ask you to do something simple here. The goal is to place 2 Stop Signs and 5 Sidewalks. The Stop Signs are more limited in placement but the sidewalks can be used to expand any you already have around. Just take a little time and build up your city here. Your reward is 100 coins.

Goal: Become Mayor
Phil will make another appearance at this point and call you forward to become Mayor. This one will take some time again as you need to bolster your city’s population to 1,000! You also need to collect from businesses 30 times, but that will likely happen just over the course of getting all the items needed to reach 1,000 people. Your reward for all your work is a Zoning Permit!

Goal: The New Seaport
Meet Captain Rusty, a salty old soul who knows he’s still meant for the sea. He wants you to expand out your city 3 times. The caveat is that it needs to be toward and over the water. You will also need to lay 3 roads, but that’s easy enough. Take your time to get everything together for the massive expansions. For your time you will unlock the Pier.

Goal: Set Sail
Now Rusty will direct you to build the Pier for 5,000 coins. Please note that only the Pier itself needs to be in a lit, accessible section. The rest just have to placed on the water which you don’t need to have lit up. Your award is 100 goods.
