LA Noire – The Quarter Moon Murders
The case starts a little different. Look at the letter, then the book (investigating further into it) and finally the second letter. Time to follow these clues to see just where they lead. The first time is Perishing Fountain, none too far from Central.
Clue One
Follow the clue you get and rush down to the fountain. Hop up onto it and you'll find another letter and something else, a social security card for Elizabeth Short. Hop off the fountain and head into your map screen. This is just a different sort of case.
Clue Two
This one requires you to have/find the Hall of Records in L.A. This is very close to Central station, being off Broadway, above 1st, down a small road. Head inside and talk with the officer behind the desk. Follow his directions to get to the top floor then head to the right and into the room your partner goes into. Go up the ladder and through the door you see up there. You need to walk across the wire to get to the chandelier. Once there you will find another note and a watch. Unfortunately the chandelier has taken about all it can at this point. Swing it back and forth a few times then jump to reach safety. Onto the next place.
Clue Three
L.A. Public Library, right by Perishing Square, on 5th street between Grand and Flower. When you arrive there, look for a drain pipe leading up to the roof. Take it up. Next scale some of the nearby scaffolding to reach the next part. Now Keep in that direction, looking for more ways up through the scaffolding. Climb the ladder, head to the right, balancing across the beam, then head left taking the next drain pipe up. Keep follow the path with the nearby ladder that you see in the scaffolding. Make your way around the building jumping the gaps in the scaffolding then take the next ladder up. Balance across the next beam and go down the next ladder. Head down the scaffolding then take the next ladder upwards again. Head to the left and keep going that way on the roof to find the next clues, another excerpt and Antonia's medallion. After all this you are thankfully put back down on the ground.
Clue Four
This one takes us to the Westlake Tar Pits. It's on the far eastern side of town in a sport that looks like some docks. Head straight forward to find the clues the killer left for you. It's a simple path. Note that any area without four post around it will sink. Get on there and only stop on the safe platforms. Make your way onto the island and find the missing white shoe and another poem excerpt. After you collec t those, you head back to the car thankfully.
Clue Five
This is surprisingly close, the L.A. Art Museum. You need to make your way to the motion machine which is in the central of a hedge maze. Just keep going to one side you will find your way to the central, eventually. Once there, you will see a ruby ring and a letter. Take a good look at both.
Clue Six
Phelps is right, it couldn't be, but it is! Head to the Intolerance movie set at 8th and Francisco. To get a start, stay on the heels of your partner, or just head for the back of the set. Head up the stairs that you see. Be careful as you will find your way on a very precarious platform. Balance until Galloway can help you could. Keep moving forward after that escapade and take the next ladder down. You will find the throne, Evelyn Summer's Ring and the next excerpt. The set starts to cave-in around you, get and keep moving forward now!
Clue Seven
Christ Crown of Thorns is the final destination and very close by to the Intolerance movie set. Driver over there. Head into the church for a cut-scene, then into the house beyond it. To get to the house, head up to the altar then to the left. Head into the house, then to the left and straight back to find the next door. You will find your way into the catacombs from here. This area is tough to navigate but keep at it to find your perp.
This shows the true nature of L.A. at the time, where money and connections ruled the city. You net a promotion, which is good. Another flashback shows us more of Phelp's time in the war. Time to move onto Vice!
