The Witcher 2 Walkthrough Part 13: Roses Of Remembrance

From the barge, follow Triss to the elven ruins, which are located past the lake with the waterfall where you found the Ostmurk. A small forest path runs alongside the stream and leads deeper into the forest. Upon finding yourself in the elven ruins, you should see the roses growing a bright red. You can pick one and hand it to Triss if you wish, as elvish legend claims that true love can stop the flower from ever wilting.

As you do so, however, a group of armed thugs will appear. They’re looking to dismantle the elven statue in the ruins and sell it for profit. Triss defends the statue, and Geralt runs to her aid. Killing the bandits should be little trouble as long as you keep your wits about you. There are no special soldier types to contend with, so simply use Aard to knock them back before finishing them with heavy, sweeping blows. After the battle, the floor will crumble out from under you, plunging Geralt and Triss into the ancient elven bath house below.

After admiring the architecture, you’ll have a chance to take a bath in the springs with Triss. You can accept her proposal or deny it, claiming there isn’t enough time. Either way, she’ll beg Geralt to run away with her and start a new life. Tempting as it may be, Geralt will still have to clear his name first.

Upon regaining control, look around the room. A red sparkling chest containing a book on the Wild Hunt lies in the northern corner of the room. Upon returning to Flotsam, you should go into the pub and talk to Dandelion about the book to reveal more details.

If you decided to take a bath with Triss, Roche will soon come looking for you. He tells you that he was worried and asks why you took so long. If you didn’t take the bath, look straight ahead to find a weak wall. Use Aard on the wall to escape the ruins and find Roche. Either way, Geralt will explain his conversation with Triss and ask to leave everything behind for the moment for the sake of regaining his memory. Roche understands your predicament but can’t let Geralt go just yet.

After your conversation with Roche, the quest will be completed and you will receive 250 experience points. Triss will tell you that she requires several days to prepare the spell using the roses. At this point, you can pick up The Assassins Of Kings quest where you left off.
