Uncharted Golden Abyss Walkthrough Part 19: Sticking Your Neck Out & Without A Paddle

This next chapter is basically just a series of cutscenes with a small minigame in the middle. Drake will enlist the help of Sully, who will ask for some justification for what Drake’s been up to. In response, Drake will pull out the rubbings he did of the sword. They’ve been damaged, and you will have to assemble them again using the touch screen. This puzzle can actually be a little tricky to get your mind around at first, as there is no clear indication of which piece goes where because they are all square. Keep in mind that if a piece shows mountains, it goes along the top row of the board, while if your piece contains a black, river-like line, that river will eventually meld into the large snake at the bottom of the map. The river leads to the temple piece, which should be placed in the top right corner.

This will lead into two more cutscenes and the next chapter, Without A Paddle.

You will have to use the touch screen to paddle the canoe by swiping down throughout this chapter. Keep swiping down and the boat will move along a predetermined course. As you paddle through a small opening to the right of the river, look to the shore to find a treasure. Touch the icon as you pass. As you row past a submerged stone column, again on the right, tap the side of the screen to make a quick charcoal rubbing. Keep rowing for a cutscene.

As you pass by a rock outcropping on the right, just after Drake makes a comment about the GPS, touch the screen again for another treasure. This next section will take you down some rapids. Keep paddling as you go down to come out safe on the other side. Paddle out into the open for a cutscene. You will end up hurtling towards a waterfall. Flick backwards on the screen as fast as you can to paddle away from the waterfall. When you finally escape the current, another cutscene will play. Keep paddling and you will reach another cutscene.

In this next section, you will control Sully as Drake rows the boat. You’ll have to blast the groups of enemies who gather on the shore using a grenade launcher. Enemies will come to each of the banks on either side of you. Look up on the bridge to find more, then on the shore to the left. At the next curve in the river, look up towards the end for another enemy, then to the left and right after you go around the bend. Arriving safely at the shore will trigger a cutscene and get you back to solid ground.

You will be standing in a photo spot as soon as gameplay resumes, so take out your camera and snap a picture of the bridge over the water. Examine the bamboo at the back of the area and cut it down for a treasure. Follow Sully up the mossy walls and jump across to join him. Climb up, jump right, and climb the wall. Keep following Sully as he crosses a beam. Balance when it trembles, then cross for a cutscene and the next chapter.
