Speak with Do Zonn, in the Forward Camp on the Tython Elarian Trail, to begin this mission. This is a 2+ Level 7 Heroic quest. This means it's intended for two party members, level 7 and above. But you can probably solo this at level 9 or 10, especially if you have a companion.
Do Zonn: Rest here, my friend. The air is cold and the mountain paths are treacherous. Words are unnecessary when the Force is with you.
You can ask:
Who are you
Please, Talk
You can see my power
Ask him who he is. What is a Jedi doing all the way out there. He tells you his name is Do Zonn. He stands watch over Kaleth, and he walks the paths surrounding its grounds. He meditates upon his failure, and learns of the past. As a Padawan, he came to Kaleth. Here, he touched temptation and the dark side. Having failed once, he now acts through other Jedi. Many help him find knowledge of ancient Tython.
Tell him you would like to assist. He tells you that the task is difficult, but also calming. He looks at Kaleth from afar, but never touches. By trusting others to walk where he cannot, he broadens his perspective. Lately, he has learned of a chamber hidden in upper Kaleth - one central to a Tythonian Machine. He would very much like to restore the chamber's power. The Old Scrolls describe it as a place of knowledge and speech. Beyond that, he does not know its function. But it should do harm to no one.
Without energy, the chamber has slept for millenia. Yet there are droids in the ruins that still function - and you might use their power cells to fuel the machine. Tell him that if you can, you will. Zonn tells you to go and tend this electric garden, plant the droids' seeds in the soil of the machine. Together, you will bring the Tythonian's secrets to light.
Open your mission log when you are done speaking with him:
[Heroic 2+] The Chamber of Speech
Repeatable - This mission can be repeated once per day. It is reset in the morning.
Do Zonn, a failed Jedi, has been meditating on the secrets and power within the ruins of Kaleth. He told you of a chamber within the ruins that houses an ancient Tythonian machine. The machine lacks the power to run, but he senses that if it could be turned on, valuable lost knowledge could be regained.
Do Zonn has asked you to reactivate the machine by using power cells from still active droids inside the ruins. Travel to the cavern in the upper ruins of Kaleth, and take power cells from Tythonian Chamber guards and sentries.
Your first task is to recover four power cells.
Head to the Kaleth Ruins, and follow the trail west to find a big cave. You will enter the Heroic Area, Chamber of Speech. Defeat monsters there such as Tythonian Droid Tenders and Tythonian Chamber Guards. Doing so unlocks a bonus mission:
Speechless (Bonus)
Repeatable - This mission can be repeated once per day. It is reset in the morning.
Defeat the Droids within the chamber of Speech
Defeat 30 Droids
Kill more droids along the way to complete the bonus mission and get more experience points.
As you kill the droids, look for the yellow glow meaning they have a quest item. Loot such droids for the power cells. Once you have four of those, the mission log will be updated:
You've recovered power cells from the sentry droids, and must now use them to reactivate the machine. Use the power cells to activate the ancient computer in the chamber.
Keep going west in the cavern, to reach the ancient computer and interact with it: A holo of the Gatekeeper shows up. At first his talk is garbled. Something is wrong, maybe the battery is not working. But suddenly he starts to talk clearly:
Gatekeeper: Translation matrix initiated. Power restored. Performing full systems check. Energy level: Critical. Data Storage: Critical. Speech and intellect: Nominal. Network Access: None. I am the Gatekeeper. I have slept for over twenty thousand years, I am approaching total systems failure.
Ask him to explain. He explains that he is the information and Speech Engine of Kaleth. He controls data storage, system logs, and historical archives. He appears to be dying of extreme mechanical damage. He does not recognize you, but he was not made for curiosity and there is little time before he ceases to function. He can transcribe any information you desire to a permanent record. This will be your only chance to recover his data. He cannot be repaired since he is suffering from a cascade failure. The flaws in his engine are multiplying exponentially, and his death in inevitable. He is not worth mourning.
Among the units of corrupted data, the histories of two of Kaleth's great lords endure. With the last of his strength, he can provide you with either the history of Lord Avamarivash the Warrior-Poet, or the history of Lord Maravada the Silent.
Your dialog wheel choices now are:
Let's hear more
We need help in a war
Do you have suggestions?
Ask him for suggestions. He tells you that he cannot make the judgment and to take the knowledge that you and your people need. Avamarivash the Warrior-Poet was a sponsor of the arts and a lover of many women, while Maravada the Silent was a philosopher and a recluse. Avamarivash fought wars and built monuments to our people
s glory. Maravad's reign was a time of peace and learning. You must choose whose history to keep.
This is a LIGHT/DARK Force decision conflict
You can choose:
Maravada (LIGHT)
Avamarivash (DARK)
Light: Choosing Maravada
If you choose the light option, Maravada, you tell the Gatekeeper to preserve the history of Maravada the Silent. This gives you 50 light Force points. You receive the Archives of Maravada.
Dark: Choosing Avamarivash
If you choose the dark option, Avamarivash, you tell the Gatekeeper to preserve the history of Avamarivash the warrior-poet. This gives you 50 dark Force Points. You receive the Archives of Avamarivash.
He gives you a crystal that contains the knowledge you seek. Let Kaleth and Tython be remembered.
The Gatekeeper informs you that his purpose is fulfilled, power drain is complete, and his systems are now terminating.
Exit the chamber of Speech and go back to Do Zonn in Forward camp and report your success. Give him the Tythonian Data Crystal.
As a reward, you get a rare armor as well as experience and credits. This concludes the mission, The Chamber of Speech.
