War Assets can be a bit nebulous in Mass Effect 3. It’s not always easy to tell what will and will not get you a new asset for your army, and if you made certain decisions in previous games, those assets may be changed in some way. That’s what this guide is here for. This walkthrough will list all of the different War Assets in Mass Effect 3, as well as all of the decisions in previous games that will influence your War Assets during your playthrough.
Mass Effect 3 War Assets
· Back up al-Jilani
· Find all three terminals on Eden Prime
· Let Diana Allers onto the Normandy
· Make Dr. Chakwas stay at the Huerta Memorial Hospital
· Make Kaiden/Ashley stay with the Alliance instead of boarding the Normandy
· Talk to Thane before the Cerberus assault on the Citadel
· Sabotage the genophage cure for the salarians
· Convince Balak to help you
· Recruit all of Aria’s mercenaries, and, if possible, don’t kill Oraka
· Don’t approve the Asari Commando or the Transfer Request options on the Spectre terminal
· Approve the rest of the options on the Spectre terminal
· In the Citadel argument, side with the Apollo Café clerk
· In the Citadel argument, side with the Dock Officer
· In the Citadel argument, side with the Worried Merchant
· In the Citadel argument, side with the Woman next to Barla Von
· Save the Rachni Queen in the Rachni hive
· Persuade Din Korlack to pledge to Volus Bombing Fleet to the cause, saving the Turian colony
· Send the Grissom Academy students to an offensive position, not a defensive position
· Use the Renegade interrupt during the Citadel attack to kill Udina
· When Tali and Admiral Xen argue on the Normandy, side with Admiral Xen to salvage the Dreadnought
· Save Admiral Zaal’Koris on Rannoch before doing Priority: Rannoch
· Support Admiral Gerrel during the argument on the Normandy
· Upgrade the geth with Reaper parts and persuade the Quarians to stop their attack (only possible if Tali is still alive, and you completed both hers and Legion’s loyalty missions)
· Have Liara talk with her father at Apollo’s Café in the Presidium Commons
· Tell Kelly Chambers to get a new identity
· Warn Miranda about Cerberus’ intentions
· Warn Miranda on Horizon about Kai Leng
· Let Miranda kill her father
· Meet Cortez at the memorial wall in the Docks to speak about the Collector attack
· Use the Paragon interrupt on Samara during the Ardat Yakshi temple mission to save her life
Mass Effect 2 Assets
· Have at least 50,000 of each element
· Have every party member survive the attack on the Collector base
· Don’t attack al-Jilani
· Get both the Kasumi and Zaeed loyal DLC, if it didn’t come with your copy of the game
· Get all party members, including the DLC ones, loyal to you
· Help the colonists at Shiala and Zhu’s Hope
· Save Maelon’s Data
· Save the Collector base
· Choose to help Samara kill Morinth. Do not allow Morinth into your party
· Help Conrad Verner
· Complete the Shadow Broker DLC
· Complete the Arrival DLC
· Complete the Overlord DLC, and save both brothers
Mass Effect 1 Assets
· Again, don’t attack al-Jilani
· Help Jenna in Chora’s Den
· Gather the Asari Matriarch’s materials in the Asari Matriarch Writings Gathering side quest
· Buy the Elkoss Combine Liscence
· Kill Wrex
· Save Kirrahe on Virmire
· Save the colonists
· Save Shiala
· Persuade Jeong to have ExoGeni stay on Feros
· Save the Rachni Queen
· Tell Conrad Verner to go home
· Save the Council
· Play the Bring Down the Sky DLC and let Balak go unharmed
