Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Walkthrough Part 38 – Northern Caeled Coast Sidequests

Inside Odi's Camp, talk with Brun the Bard who gives you the quest, “Brun the Bard”. Head East from Odi's Camp. There you will find Aloff the Hammer who gives the quest, “Worthy of Chernobog”.  It is recommended to get “Worthy of Chernobog” first, as many of the enemies you fight for “Brun the Bard and “The Last Gastyr” are Bolgan.

Head into Castle Gastyr. Look into first chamber of the main one to the East. There you will find Hillared Gastyr who give the quest, “The Last Gastyr”. This quest beginnings as soon as you take it. It pairs exceptionally well with “Brun the Bard” if you started it before going into the Castle and meeting Hillared.

Brun the Bard
He asks you to go and clear an area of enemies so he may spin a tale for you. Head south into the Bolgan Camp. There you will find 2 Bolgan Brutes waiting for you. After that, you need to “wait” for Brun. By wait, it is meant kill everything else that tries to come in. 3 Elite Murghan will come at you for the second wave. Now talk with Brun and get him to tell you a story about the place.

Gastyr Castle
Now head to the Southwest, follow the path West when you can. This leads into a Bolgan Beastmaster with an Arcane Barghest. Deal with them then go West. Past the stairs, in front of the building, you will find 3 Bolgan Brutes waiting for you. Again, you need to “wait” for Brun. Another Bolgan Brute and Thug will wander over that you need to deal with.

Cliffs
Head to the West of the Castle. At the site you will find 2 Bolgan Brutes awaiting you. Deal with them however you would like. The second wave is no where to be seen. Brun will tell a story about what is his own past. He then asks you to seek out a letter for him which is inside the Castle Gastyr.

Castle Gastyr
Head south and into the first chamber. There you will fight 3 Arcane Barghest. Head to the east, through the one good path there.

When the path opens into a chamber you will need to go against 2 Bolgan Brutes. After that, continue  to the North. In the next chamber is a pair of Bolgan Brutes and a Beastmaster. Head West into the next section. There you will encounter 2 Prismere Trolls, a Bolgan Brute and Thug. The good news is one Prismere Troll is optional as it is behind a locked door. In the follow room you have 2 Arcane Barghest and 2 Bolgan Beastmasters.

Head South from that chamber and you will find another Bolgan Beastmaster waiting for you. As you approach the Throne Room, you will find 3 Arcane Barghest waiting for you with a Bolgan Beastmaster not far behind. Head through the room to the corridor behind it and go to the East, following the corridor as it bends to the South. If you enjoy loot, go into the two chambers just off the corridors. The one immediately south of the Arcane Barghest room has 2 more Barghest and another Beastmaster. The one to the East has 2 Bolgan Thugs and a Brute. As the corridor turns West, you will find a Bolgan Thug waiting for you. From there, just follow the path to get to the Throne Room itself.

There you will encounter the Fae who has taken over the castle, Racinon. He is aided by an Ancient Leanashe. Riacinon is a Mage so just get close and keep him stunned to avoid most of the damage he can inflict. Loot the chest in the Top Right of the room to find the letter. Now head outside and talk with Brun to finish out the mission.

The Last Gastyr
Follow Hillared to the East, down the stairs. When the path opens into a chamber you will need to go against 2 Bolgan Brutes. After that, continue following Hillared
 to the North. In the next chamber is a pair of Bolgan Brutes and a Beastmaster. Head West into the next section. There you will encounter 2 Prismere Trolls, a Bolgan Brute and Thug. The good news is one Prismere Troll is optional as it is behind a locked door. In the follow room you have 2 Arcane Barghest and 2 Bolgan Beastmasters.

Head South from that chamber and you will find another Bolgan Beastmaster waiting for you. As you approach the Throne Room, you will find 3 Arcane Barghest waiting for you with a Bolgan Beastmaster not far behind. Head through the room to the corridor behind it and go to the East, following the corridor as it bends to the South. If you enjoy loot, go into the two chambers just off the corridors. As the corridor turns West, you will find a Bolgan Thug waiting for you. From there, just follow the path to get to the Throne Room itself.

Worthy of Chernobog
First, you need to collect 10 Bolgan eyes. That means searching and killing 10 Bolgans. This is a very easy thing to do in the Caeled Coast. Just wander around and you will find them. Now head over to the marked Altars. They will be placed Chernobog will come charging out. He is really no more than a slightly tougher Bolgan so handle him as usual.
