Dragon Age Origins Walkthrough Part 24 – Nature of the Beast

With the Arl revived and the Landsmeet preparations beginning, it is time to work on another of the treaties the Grey Wardens can call upon. Time to head for the Brecilian Outskirts and recuit the elves to your banner.

When you arrive inside the forest, you are greeted by Mithra who is leading a patrol. Just be straight forward with her to easily advance things and make it to the camp quickly. Once there you are introduced to Keeper Zathrain. He explains the clan cannot honor the treaty at present because many of their hunters have been afflicted with Lycanthropy. Talk with him some more to get a little equipment out of this whole deal. After that it is time to explore the camp. Be sure to find the Landmark Tent if you have Mabari in your party so he can mark it.

Codex Entries:
Below the infirmry you will find an idol head sitting on the ground. Examine it for the “June: God of Craft” codex entry. Head over to the nearby statue and examine it for the entry, “Sylaise: The Hearthkeeper”. Head across the path to find the Andriul statue. Examine it for the entry “Andriul: Goddess of the Hunt”.

Head over to  Arthras and look to the left of him. Examine the ink bottles there to gain the entry, “Vassaslin: Blood Writing”.

Be sure to head behind the Varathorn and examine the scroll there. “The Long Wall” and “Dirthamen: Keeper of Secrets”.

As you head east, look around for Fen'Harel for the codex entry, “Fen'Harel: The Dread Wolf”.

Go to the northern part of the camp and find Elora. Next to get is the statue Ghilan'nain, which gives the codex entry “Ghilan'nain: Mother of the Halla”. Talking with Elora yield the codex entry “Aravels”. After all that, head to the eastern side of the camp and into the Western Brecilian Forest

West Brecilian Forest
Head to the North from the entrance. As you press forward you will be attacked by a group of 2 werewolves and a number of wolves. Potentially there is a Blight Wolf who can join the fray but tends to get stuck a short ways away. Follow the path until it turns west. TO the south of that  point you will find a Giant Bear. Deal with the bear to find a corpse to loot behind it. Head out and to the East from there. Be sure to examine the trunk of the first tree in this direction. There is an Andraste's Grace at the base of it.

Keep going to the West from there and you will encounter some of the Werewolves who want to talk to you. The leader is Swiftrunner. You can persuasde more information out of him to learn something of what is going on between the Dalish and the Werewolves. You can fight them but Swiftrunner will retreat when he is reduced to half health or less. Continue on to the West.

On the other side of the bridge you talked to Swiftrunner on, you will be attacked by 4 rabid werewolves. Press on West and cross another small bridge. This time Darkspawn are waiting on the otherside. This group is made of Hurlocks and an Ogre. Head North from that encounter to find a Wild Sylvan. Head Southwest from there to find Deygan, as part of the “Wounded in the Forest” sidequest. Now head to the North to find the exit to the East Belician Forest. You can also press East to find another group of Werewolves to fight.Defeat the 4 of them. Just beyond them is the South Entrance to the Eastern Brecilian Forest. Be sure to also turn South from there and defeat the Wild Sylvan. Here you can find the Grand Oak. This fellow is needed later on in this quest.
