This walkthrough covers the Epilogue of The Witcher 2, which functions as the extension and conclusion of the The Assassins of Kings quest that has been continuing ever since the first Act. This walkthrough specifically will cover the quest from Iorveth’s side. If you are looking for coverage of Roche’s side of the arrangement, check out the next walkthrough. As this walkthrough covers the ending of the game, it will assume that you have beaten everything up until this point. As such, it will not mark spoilers as most of the previous guides have, because this is the end of the game and spoilers are essentially impossible to avoid at this point.
After you are done dealing with Saskia in her dragon form, you will return to Loc Muinne automatically. At this point, you will meet with either Iorveth or Triss, depending on who you decided to side with in the For A Higher Cause! quest. You will talk to your companion about the battle with the dragon. It was a deadly and epic fight for sure, but remember who your true enemy has been this whole time: Letho. He will await you in the Temerian quarters. Whether or not you will actually end up fighting him by now is a mystery, as it has become clear by this point that Geralt and Letho have some sort of history, the extent of which may not be fully known yet. If you decided to help Iorveth out over Triss, he will tell you that Triss awaits you at the Temerian camp as well.
Proceed to the Temerian camp, then. Along the way, you will come across a group of devious soldiers attempting to force themselves upon a group of young sorceresses. Deal with them, and then proceed to the camp to meet up with Letho. As you approach him, Triss will reach you first if you went with Iorveth instead of her. In this case, she will tell you that Letho saved her while you were busy curing Saskia with the dagger. Triss will fill you in on the few holes left in the plot, and Letho will fill you in on the rest. It will soon become clear that you will not actually need to fight against Letho. You may still decide to do so, however. If you do decide to fight Letho, check out the strategy for the battle below.
Boss Battle: Letho
As a Witcher, Letho possesses many of the same powers as you. He will cast Igni to attack you from afar, and he will also throw poisonous bombs at you from afar. As soon as you see him winding up to throw a bomb or cast a spell, roll to the side to avoid the attack. Letho also casts Quen on himself frequently, shielding himself from damage. Occasionally, if he gets close enough, he will cast Aard to knock you off your feet.
Learn Letho’s attacks and how to dodge each of them before you commit to any serious counterattack. Use Quen to protect when he launches any particularly serious attacks in your direction, and spam Aard to keep him at bay when he comes in for a close attack. . As you dodge around, set Yrden traps across the battlefield. If they succeed, Letho will be momentarily stunned and he will be unable to counter any damage with his Quen spell. Once you have familiarized yourself with Letho’s attack patterns you can successfully mount a counterattack. Don’t waste any time with weak blows; use the right mouse button to hit him with heavy attacks while you can.
After the battle or the conversation, whichever you chose to go with, you will leave Loc Muinne with either just Triss or Triss and Iorveth, whichever you chose to go with, and the game will end. Congratulations on beating the game on Iorveth’s side!
