Starhawk Walkthrough Part 2 – The Freightway

Cutter has called you up back up to the ship so Emmett can get in his Hawk and deal with some Outcast Hawks that are flying around the Spaceway around Dust. Head on forward to the Hawk and mount up. Once up, hit “Circle” to change from Mech mode to flight. After that, the Hawk starts moving forward. Steer it through the markers to get through the calibration. Follow the prompt to land on the platform ahead.

A quick little scene happens there and then it is back in the sky for Emmett. Head over to the second platform for another landing. Another quick scene then it is back in the air for some action. Take off and start chasing after the Hawk that is scouting. If you want to close the distance quickly, Boost and hold “R2” for a lng burn. Remember to watch the Boost Fuel as it burns off very quickly. Follow the prompt to start shooting at it. The good news is there is a targeting system but you still need to get the Hawk in the reticule and keep it there. Fly after it, start and keep gunning to get at the Hawk and shoot it down.

Destroy the Outcast Hawks
After the Scout is down, Cutter points out where it came from and directs Emmett there. Head for the marker and you hear that more Hawks are coming in with Swarm Lasers. Time to learn about using flares and a lot more about aerial combat. This time there are 2 Hawks and they are determined to take you down.

Maneuvers:
X+Left/Right – Barrel roll in that direction
X+Up/Down – Flip turn

Power Slide
L2+R2

Investigate the mining platform
Head over there and Emmett will complain about not having any swarm missiles. The good news is Cutter finds some that are right by the platform you are headed for. Just head over to the icon and touch it to get a solid stock of them. Chase after the Outcast Hawk and hold “R1” for up to 8 beeps. After that just let loose the cluster of Swarm Missiles. Take down the pair and it is time for much more the norm of combat. 4 Hawks come in and attack Emmett. Time to string everything together and destroy all those Hawks. You need to evade or counter the  shots coming at you. They still will focus on using missiles for their main attack. Do not discount their guns though. If you take a lot of damage during the battle then Cutter will direct you back to the Supply depot. Above one of the silos you will find a repair kit that keeps your Hawk in perfect condition. Just fight on to get through the combat. At the end of it, Cutter picks up a Distress Signal.
