Xenoblade Chronicles Guide- Walkthrough Part 52: You're Never Gonna Believe...

Confronted with the blunt declaration of such a thing as seeing the future, Sharla declares it impossible.

Shulk, not one to assert himself as some sort of power, agrees that it should be impossible, but he certainly can’t explain much of anything about it.  He does point out that it’s more like a vision than a certainty, and that it will only come true if nothing is done to stop it.  Sharla asks if Juju’s in danger, still sounding uncertain.  Reyn declares that it’s up to the purplette to decide if she believes or not, but asserts that without Shulk’s visions, he himself wouldn’t be alive to argue the point.

Sharla clearly still doesn’t believe in the ability Shulk has gained from the Monado- but ‘what have I got to lose?’

Shulk starts to speak up to her, but then pauses in uncertainty.  He was about to mention that he saw her death as well, but changes his mind for some reason.  This is the point at which Reyn speaks up, clearly aggravated by how long the other two are taking to get a move on.

Sharla turns to the redhead, declaring that he sounds like Gadolt, so it’s not worth arguing.  A bit insulted, Reyn insists that he’s not some sort of copy or replacement for anyone- this is clearly already starting to get to him a bit.

Shulk, meanwhile, takes a few more moments to consider Sharla’s apparent death in the visions the Monado has been giving him.  He doesn’t feel he can stop her from coming along, but he really isn’t clear on how he can protect her.  Still, he determines that he’s got to do so anyways.

And so, with Juju off on a preteen mission of semi-righteous and completely understandable obsession, Shulk and Reyn set off after him with a new accompaniment- Sharla, a rifle-toting support character.

This promises a big change- Sharla is an entirely support-oriented character.  While she does have a few Arts in her arsenal for offensive use, most of what she does is buffing, debuffing and, wonderfully, healing.  Not only is she much better at patching people up than Shulk, she also packs along a number of ways to prevent damage to her allies, both by directly reducing the incoming hurt and by allowing them to dish out more and bring down foes faster.

Additionally, she is the first ranged character available to you in the game, and she is a completely ranged character thanks to her rifle- which apparently not only includes regular projectile bullets and special ammunition like electric bullets, but also bullets that create a shield instead of a wound, and most entertaining of all, healing bullets.
