Game of Thrones Walkthrough Part 46 – Alester – A New Hope, Part 2

Objective: “Now that you are in the tunnels, quietly make your way to the where Harlton was supposed to meet Gawen and search for clues.”

There is the simple matter of getting through the blasted area in the first place now. You cannot go forward like Hardyng said, not with the Sewer Drain Key. Instead head North then East into the next room. Hardyng will get you into the Arena itself where you can freely explore things. There is plenty to find in the area. Start by head to the South of the door you came in and go behind the counter on your right. Use the Flames of R'hllor to reveal the secret of the lockbox on the floor behind the counter. It contains 21 silver. Now head up the stairs to the East and investigate along the ledge near the center of this landing. You will find a scroll with a “Westeros Archive” and a Seal of Knowledge. This archive gives the codex entry, “Trial by Combat.”

With that collected, head to the Northeastern door and head on through. Going straight through gives Alester access to King's Landing, but this the Arena's Private entrance and requires a key. Heading to the North in this section shows the path to the arena floor itself. Now head back up the stairs and into the arena. Head to the South and go through the next door. Take the stairs beyond it down and head to the right, into another preparation area. On the table in front of you is the armor “Lord's steel coat of mail.” While it is not a lot, these can be handy items. Now head for the doorway in the Southwestern corner of the arena. This leads back into the sewers themselves.

Head to the South but go into the first door on your left. Search the tied off sack near the shelves to find  8 silver. Do not even bother with the stairs in this room as they lead nowhere. Next, head back into the corridor and approach the two men bent over something. These thieves will come at you then. Just after the fight has begun, likely after one is down, two more thieves will join the fray from the room adjacent to your location. Defeat them and 3 more will come and join the fight. Most of the combatants thus far have only been in Light or No armor. This is the home stretch of it while in this group, 2 are in light armor and one is a Boss in Heavy Armor.

With all of them dead, loot the bodies. Time to explore the now enemy free area. First, head back into the main room. Just by the room the thieves came out of is the body the first ones you spotted were looting. Do so yourself to get the Sewer Drain Key! Finally, some easier access. Head directly across from the room the first round of thieves came out of. Inside there you can find some loot in a kettle by on the shleves to the left of the door. It has 6 silver in it. Head farther in and underneath one of the wolf skins you will another “Westeros Archive” with a Seal of Knowledge. This archive adds the “House Stark” codex entry.

Head back into the main room and go to the South now. There you will find the room you are looking for. Alester will investigate the lock it is apparent that it has been forced open. Inside the pair will listen to 2 Reapers talk. They make it clear that their boss is missing or just has not shown which is very odd. Alester has the choice of either barging into the conversation or to listening in. The results are ultimately the same as waiting just yields some speculation on the matter then fighting while charging in results in just skipping to the fight. That part depends on how you are playing Alester.

This battle is nothing too hard. One is in Medium Armor while the other is in Heavy Armor. Remember to have Hardyng draw what fire he can and use Retaliation while Alester attacks. Having both of them focus on one will give the best results over all.

After the fight, Porky is the only survivor. Demand he give you your brother's broken locket. He will also explain how to get to the Reaper's Den deeper inside the Sewers. From here, you can either choose to kill or release Porky. After your talk you will get the Reaper's Master Key.
