Inside the chamber, it is time to find the documents that Raynald hid down here. First, go to the Scroll rack to the Southeastern corner. There you will find “Minutes of the Shadow Council.” Now head over to the Northwestern corner of the room. There you will find a chest with 6 silver inside. Use the Vision of R'hllor here to reveal a hidden chamber just off to your right. Go into it and look to the left to find a dresser with 24 silver inside it. That is everything in this chamber so head to the South into the next room.

In this room there are only a few things to grab. The first of them is found on the Western side of the room in the Scroll Cabinet. It will turn up the letter, “Let's banish the Collector.' This reveals a (former) member of the council that was working to undermine Riverspring itself. This lets you begin the Side quest, “Avenge Riverspring.” This side quest is available until chapter 13. Time to continue on looting. Head over to the chest in the Northwestern corner where you can collect a Battle Mace. Now turn your attention to the desk. It is here you will find the documents that help you with Harlton. In the Southwestern corner you will find a chest with a pair of Studded Leather Boots.

Objective: “You have the precious documents. Go to Castlewood and hand them to Lord Harlton. The ferryman on the dock will take you.”
Time to leave the depths of Riverspring Castle and return to the town itself. Be sure to talk with Elyana if you want to trigger “Rings and Chains” and begin it. Remember, this side quest is only available during this chapter. Now head back into Riverspring and go to the Docks in the northern part of town. If you have not completed “Rings and Chains”, you will fail it by reaching the Ferryman.

Castlewood
Objective: “Tell Lord Harlton what you have discovered.”
Head to the North from the entrance of the castle. Head into the castle itself and up the stairs to the double doors in front of you. On the other side you will find Lord Harlton. He will praise you for finding the documents. Now you can push for action or inquire into the contents of the documents. After that, you can ask about the girl, who she is or why the queen wants her dead. That girl is part of the Targaryen line and she carries a bastard of Robert Baratheon's! Talk about no luck at all there.
