Game of Thrones Walkthrough Part 98 – Alester and Mors – Light and Shadow, Part 1

When you arrive, Howard of the Goldcloaks is acting as a border agent, inquiring who is coming and why they are there. Alester will want to hide their identities while Mors will tell the truth outright.

The Mors choice will lead to Howard asking for a bribe of 2 gold to avoid the pending fight. You can either pay or engage with the 5 Gold Cloaks. The Alester choice to lie to the guards results in much the same. Howard asks for the bribe to avoid the fight.

Howard is a Boss in Heavy Armor with a Longsword. 2 of his men are in Medium Armor and come at you with Short Swords. The 2 in Light Armor hang back and pepper you with Arrows.

Objective: “Find Harwyn at the Agreed-Upon location, behind Jaremy's Pottery Shop.”
After the fight or the bribery you are free to roam about the town. Head North, deeper into town. At the platform in front of the stables you will find Orys, Axe, or both (if you helped them earlier). Orys (or Axe) will let Alester's name slip and it is back into fighting. This time is it easier and you potentially have aid as well. There are 5 Lannister guards to be dealt with. The one placing the queries is a Boss in Heavy Armor with a 2-handed sword. There are 3 are in Light Armor with Short Swords. The final one is in Medium Armor and has a scimitar. Take advantage of the tight quarters of this fight to use area attacks to quickly cut through your opponents.

Head over to the East and start toward the Market Square. There are more Guards to be dealt with. It is another ground of 5 Lannister men. One is a Boss in Heavy Armor with a 2-handed sword, 2 men in Light Armor with short swords and 2 men in Medium Armor with Polearms.

If you head North, you can stop into the Potion Shop and refill your flasks. Be careful though, if you head to the sewers from there you will find a nasty surprise. That is 5 Lannister guards: 2 in Heavy Armor, One an Elite Boss and the second a normal boss. The remaining guards are also Bosses in Light Armor. Two of the normal bosses have short swords and the Elite Boss has a Sword and Shield. The remaining Bosses in Light Armor come at you with Bow and Arrow.

Turn South from there and head down for the Potter's Shop. Open the gate and head for the back left. Maester Harwyn is not at the meeting place that he was supposed to be at. In his stead you will find a woman, Falena. Talk with her and Alester can tell her what has happened to Gawen or focus on why is at the Potter's shop. After that, you can either ask her nicely and she will tell you where to find Maester Harwyn and the babe or demand it and she will clam up.

Objective: “According to Falena, Varys has taken Harwyn somewhere in the rich quarter of King's Landing. You must find him.”
From there, head North into the Market Square. Check over the merchants for any weapons and armor you might want to upgrade. During this, there is a chance of battle. There is a patrolling guard along the end of the market. He is an Archer in Light Armor. With your present party he will die quickly before getting even a single shot off.

Head to North, turning to the right at the stairs. Approach and go through the door there. If you are not so lucky opening the door, you will encounter a company of Lannister men. There are 5 in the company. 3 are in Light Armor while the remaining 2 are in Medium and Heavy Armor. Most have swords, but the one in heavy armor comes at you with a Mace and shield. Continue to the East from there, along the Northern edge to find Varys in the Northeastern corner of the area.
