With Persona 4 Arena, the developer has taken a few steps to minimize confusion when dipping one's feet into this new release, but for fighting newbies or those who are only picking up the game to fuel their Persona fandom, it can still be a daunting task to overcome all of the systems at work in P4A. (The commands listed here assume that the character is facing towards the right. The commands will be reversed when the character is facing to the left.)

• Furious Action: Dodge: Pull this move off by hitting X or A + O or B
• Skill:Dash Spring : Hit left on the D-Pad plus Square or X. Alternately, you can hit left on the D-Pad and the X or A button to get the same result
• Skill: Flying Kunai: While in the air, hit left or right on the D-Pad plus Triangle or Y. Alternately, you can hit left or right on the D-Pad and the O or B button to get the same result, as long as you are in the air
  
• Skill: Moonsault: While in the air, hit left or right on the D-Pad plus the Square or X button. Alternately, you can hit left or right on the D-Pad and the X or A button to get the same result, as long as you are in the air
• Skill: Crescent Slash: The Crescent Slash is actually a tricky move to pull off, as it can only be activated during the Moonsault move listed above. When performing a Moonsault, simply hit the Square or X button, or the X or A button, to pull off the Crescent Slash
• Skill: Mirage Slash: While in the air, hit down on the D-Pad and the Triangle or the Y button. Alternately, you can hit the O or the B button to perform this move, too
• Skill: Tentarafoo: Hit right on the D-Pad plus the Triangle or the Y button. Alternately, you can hit the O or the B button to perform this move, too
• SP Skill: Garudyne: Quickly tap right on the D-Pad twice in succession, plus Triangle or Y. Alternately, you can double tap right on the D-Pad and hit the O or B button to get the same result
• Awakened SP Skill: Sukukaja: Quickly tap left on the D-Pad twice in succession, plus Triangle or Y. Alternately, you can double tap left on the D-Pad and hit the O or B button to get the same result
• Instant Kill: Brave Blade: Quickly tap down on the D-Pad three times in succession, plus Triangle or Y. Alternately, you can triple tap left on the D-Pad and hit the O or B button to get the same result
