Let's take a little break from the gangland action in Sleeping Dogs for a moment to introduce a more sympathetic side story. This mission, entitled Amanda, introduces the titular character (played by Emma Stone) and gives you a few new moves to use in battle, to boot. Because of the additions this mission makes to your moveset, you will want to do it as soon as it becomes available. Click in the left stick repeatedly until you see the "Amanda" mission highlighted. Now proceed to your objective's waypoint. It shouldn't be too far away.
When you arrive, you will find one thoroughly lost tourist. She will approach you and ask if you speak English. When she receives an affirmative, she will ask you to show her the way to a famous martial arts temple in Hong Kong. Wei will tell her that it'll be easier for him to simply drive her there, and before you know it you'll both be perched on the back of his motorcycle and speeding off down the street. Well played Wei, well played indeed.
Wei will take it upon himself to show Amanda around town a little bit as he drives her to the martial arts temple, so simply follow your HUD's map and you will arrive there after a few stops. Suffice it to say, this martial arts "temple" isn't exactly all its cracked up to be, aesthetically at least. But its master is just as wise and powerful as ever, and it seems he has a history with Wei. Guess it's no surprise that Wei frequented a martial arts master's temple, given his mad skills at throwing down. Wei will introduce the two, and Amanda will ask for a lesson. Of course, you will end up becoming involved in this lesson, too, a clever conceit for teaching you a few new moves.
Sifu, the master of the dojo, will insist that Amanda is your girlfriend, claiming that your skill with girls is very high, but your skills at martial arts have no doubt waned since you left for America. Now it's time to prove him wrong. Lock on to the enemy in front of you, and, while still facing forward, follow the commands to attack the enemies to your back, left, and right. Continue to follow the tutorial commands as the enemies break formation and attack you all-out. You should be able to beat them fairly easily by following the tutorial commands before letting lose on them with all-out attacks. Sifu will be impressed by your skills, and he will confess some amount of shame that many of his students have been leaving to join the triads.
He will then take you over to his display case, which used to contain a group of precious jade statues. Now only one remains, a result of theft by one of his former students turned triad. These jade statues will later take the form of collectibles. As you navigate the gang hideouts of Hong Kong, you will sometimes stumble upon a glowing jade statue. Grab these statues and return them to Sifu to learn new moves and unlock new paths on the skill tree. For now, though, it appears your lesson is done and your time with Amanda is at a close. You have completed this mission and unlocked a few new items, including workout clothes for Wei, which are available now at your apartment's wardrobe.
