You will now have to raid the Artificer's Palace. This level is located in the Forsaken Vaults. It's a massive compound consisting of two stories and filled with winding and complex passages. You should naturally try to seek out every last nook and cranny in this area so that you can maximize your loot intake and get all of the additional XP from all of the slain enemies.
Those enemies now include in their ranks some gun wielding varieties. If you are playing a ranged class yourself, you should use the same strategy that they do and blast away from a distance. If you are playing a melee fighter, you will want to close the distance as quickly as humanly possible, before they can get a shot off if possible. Large gun turrets will deal huge amounts of damage to you from a distance, so this strategy goes double for them. Do not let them get a shot off at you, or if they do, be sure that you're already on the move and avoiding the projectile.
You won't just have enemies to contend with in this tricky dungeon, though. Traps are also a big component of what makes this area difficult. There are four types of traps in the area, and you should be on a lookout for all of them. This is especially tricky because the layouts are randomized, but having knowledge of the traps beforehand can definitely help.
The first trap type is a column that rises from the ground and pelts you with lightning. The only way to avoid falling into this trap is to drop everything as you see it raise from the ground, and smash it up with melee attacks until it breaks.
The second type of trap is a blade trap. They will pop out of the ground ain the slots around the tiles and move in a pattern before descending. To avoid these, simply run between them or around them.
The third type of trap is a vent that spews out little robot minions. As the robots near you, they will self destruct. Hit them with area of effect attacks to kill them in droves before they can reach you, or run away until they explode themselves if you are lacking in AoE attacks.
The fourth and final trap comes in the form of a pair of statues that sit across from each other, They will fire energy beams from their eyes on timed intervals, so to avoid them simply rush through when the lasers are inactive.
When you reach the lair of the Artificer, take all of the normal precautions before entering. When the battle begins, you will find yourself facing off against several attacks. The Artificer can teleport, shoot blue energy beams at you, and grab you with his chain weapon. You can get behind him if you are fast enough and hack away at him from behind for extra damage. Use the wide open space of his arena to your advantage and draw him into turning his back on you before wailing away with your weapons. As you fight, turrets will rise up from the floor and fire upon you. Destroy the turrets before moving back to the Artificer.
As usual, when the boss dies you should search the room, loot the Boss Chest, and return to the hub city.
