Once you reach the indicator on the floor, the room closes off, and Jim calls Valerian to get him to open the door. The young commander warns that while he can do that, there are a number of freed Zerg specimens on the other side, so the two heroes are going to have to defend themselves. Sarah notes that she can feel the Zerg waiting there, but she doesn't think it would be a good idea to try to take control of them again.
This leaves you to have her and Jim shoot down the attacking zerglings as soon as the door opens. Once you've defended the room, Jim and Sarah head to the lift and take it down to the next level- and are greeted by a comm message from Nova, who not-so-politely insists that they surrender or die.
As before, there's really only one path, so make your way Southwest and South onto the upper platform and then back down, heading towards the gates that are preparing to close. Atop the first elevated area you'll find a firebat waiting at the ramp (easily taken out by a Kinetic Blast) accompanied by a single marine- the other ramp to this platform is very near, and the firebat and marines there are busy fending off a wave of zerglings. Deal with the lot however you like, then the extra zerglings that continue to rush up the ramp. Another batch approaches from below when you near the ramp, but there's an aid station below, so don't worry about conserving energy.
Just beyond the aid station, you'll be attacked by a hydralisk, which you should make short work of, then a cluster of three zerglings will appear, along with a Dominion firebat and marauder. Your focus will need to be on the Dominion enemies- Jim's rifle will make short work of the zerglings with no issue. Head up the ramp to the Southeast as Jim and Sarah reminisce about the old days ('My hair's got more gray in it.', Jim quips, to which Sarah's response is, 'And my hair's got more Zerg.') and bring the two to the waypoint circle and aid station in the next room.
The door seals behind Jim and Sarah (as long as you got there before the three-minute mark, not a tough challenge by any measurement), and you're 'treated' to the unfortunate death of a civilian being chased by four zerglings that the couple then have to gun down. Follow the path the civilian was running down quickly, as this next area is also going to be sealed soon. Your first encounter is just a pair of zerglings, but then there is a wall of debris and an ultralisk, which starts hacking away. Kerrigan suggests a kinetic blast, but if you want to save the energy, just have the two shoot at the ultralisk- it'll mostly destroy the barrier before they finish killing it, thus making their job of busting through the obstruction easier.
